Sunday the barn was so busy

Big weekend watched Chase overnight at our house his first sleepover.

Headed over as soon as I could, Raychel grabbed Chase around 1230 or 1pm and had a coffee grabbed everying and then headded over to the barn.

Patti was on Sienna, the nice people were expecting a new horse Mack, 4 years old. He seemed sweet after Kristin and Krystyn was able to get him off the trailer.

Was up at the paddock, handing out snacks apples bandanas and doing Beaus supplements

I was able to do about 16 baggies and there were 2 left over still in the bin so we should be ok for at least 2 weeks.

There was lots o people there, Lynn, Lynns father, 2 people getting new horse, Krystyn, Kristin Patti myself. June had just left like crazy Sunday.

Needed to do a soak but there were just too many people there. He lasted 2 minutes, sigh I ran out of snacks and asked Patti to hold his head and keep him sort of stable, she didnt make it. I think he soaked a total of 2+ minutes not much.

We did some back ups, we ate come grass inthe field walking down. I am looking forward to when they do the fields and cut that crazy grass.

For his feet to really heal he needs to walk and use his feet to get those hoofs all clear.

Wednesday Night a soak and hoof care

I left the house after 730 to head over to the barn. it was about 70 degrees and just beautiful out. It had been since early Saturday morning since I had seen Beau and we really didnt do too much. Cant catch a break,

On Saturday the rain was crazy and the horses were outside. I was inside working on lots of stuff but the horse were outside. I didnt bring Beau in but hung out with him at the paddock.  Worked with him, doing small things. Saw Krystyn as she left from doing the chores.

Wednesday I was able to do some of my chores. Set up the the pan and do a soak, it may have not been for a along time but Beau allowed me to pick up his foot a few times.  Soaked for maybe 10min or less. I used my spray bottle with the warm water and the epson salts. I did not wrap his foot, only soaked and lifted was able to pick 3 of his feet. I believe that if I keep trying and trying I will get to a point where I am cleaning his feet each week correctly. I know that soaking is very important to his healing.

I was able to apple this hooflex too He seemed mad that I put it on his feet but hes gonna after to deal with it.

Id say I was there about 60 minutes and was able to get so much completed. I still need to give him tons of snacks each time. The horses did not have enough hay so I went over to the stalls and threw hay to anyone who needed it even the goats.

Saturday and Sunday both days forecasted as stormy but sunny, cool, breezy

Saturday the horses were in, I got to the barn around 2 or 3pm. /the lady and mann were there.  They are nice, talked to me, saids that their horse, Chewy had finally found a saddle that fits and they like. They were outside on the side of the barn riding around. The horses had been out that day but the threats on the  weather channels said that we would have a storm. Althoguh the weather was good enough, it did rain, clouds sort of sunny but the breezes and coolness made me remember that summer s not here yet.

I was able to be at the barn for quite a while.

I got Beau out of his stall and put him in the cross ties, I was able to brush him a bit. He was happy to see me. I was pretty busy but I was able to spend so much tije with Beau. Brushed him out a bit, worked on the picking up his hoofs. Hes getting so good with me. I

I brought hm out to the arena and we walked a lung just keeping to a walk and I did not ask too much of him. He only went in one direction and we did about 100 back steps he loves to do his excerices with me.

made his soak fo rhis hoof, we was able to soak for about 3 minutes until he dumped the pan. He kept his hoof in the water (epsons salts, warm water).

As I was getting ready to soak his hoof, Bonnie came to do the feedings, she was so apologetic that she had asked me to pay for the dentist on text when I had already had the check back from her cashing it last week. When I saw her pull in I was walking to et something from my car. She had a good idea, that I could feed Beau his grain as he soaked his foot, it worked out pretty good, evenn when he dumped the pan he still stood in it and there was some of the water in his hoof.  I didnt wrap his foot on Saturday.

I was able to do all his supplements for the next 2 weeks too. So alot of work got completed for the end of the month.

I loved the time at the barn on saturday, the butterfilies were flying and I saw something I have never seen before a group of about 8 butterfiles swirling around the white ones that are around in September. There was a magical day in September when I walked the woods at the end of Debs road, near the barn with a bottle of wine, cheese, crackers. it was magically that day. The barn was beautiful and I sat with my friend in a field on the grass, amazing.

Well back to the butterfiles from Saturday, I had a swallowtail swirl around me, as it flew I was able to catch a cupl pics.

Sunday was so different, in contrast to SAturdy where there was no one with me for hours, there were so many people. Patti, Emma, June, Lynn, we are all in the same ailse too. I was busy taking care of my guy.

As I walked up the hill to get him, there is was sticking his head out of the fence reaching to get grass. He looked up at me. I cant really believe he is the same horse he was the day he ploughed over me and Val last fall. Just so different. He is calm, reponsive, pays attention to everything I ask him, hes not trying to push on me, hes not trying to scare me.

The added an extra paddock up the top of the hill I think the boys are made because the ATVs care not able to buzz the horses like they did last weekend. I really think that is a jerky thing to do. Not sure about those guys being very difficult to be around with others.

I think I could start to round pen him again, I hope we will be able to get some further progress after I get his hoofs back to shape.

Well I had no problems getting him out of the paddock, the gate is great. We walked down the hill I let him eat almost every step, ife is short so what the heck.

Let him into the arena to play while I got his pan and meds ready.

Before June, Lynn got to the barn a nice woman named Emma was talking to me about riding spice. She was super nice. She was watching me take care of Beau's hoof. She later asked me if I had any Copper Cuff or soemthign liek that, its for thrush. I did not know what it was and we began to talk about her and riding and the people who own Spice and Joliet She was super nice and said when she tells Krystyn that the horses have thrush she usually does something I asked her what does she do? She said she did hnot know. It was nice taking to her about the people who own the horses and hwo she was lucky tob eable to ride and care for them. I like her.

Patti was talking to Lynn as she had arrived after a while.

Patti was close talking and they had lots of issues then June showed up. all this time I was working on the pad wrap. I had all of the duct tape lined up and I had his hoof had already soaked, and I was able to use the new spray bottle with epson salts andn warm water. As I was spraying his hoof, and toweling him off while making the duct tape wrap, they were watching me from the front of the ailse. June commented how great Beaus feet looked. Later after the other were wrapped up.  she suggested that maybe Beua would benifit by front shoes, she said she has to do that or that Cisco's feet would disenegrate from the rough paddock conditions.

When everyone left June was very kind, spoke to me about how hard it is for her to care for Ciscos feet. Iw able to talk tot her about how I was struggling with the care of his hoofs but she said that she has had to come for up to 6 weeks to care for Africa's feet. She was very understanding sand said taht many do not know how to wrap a hoof, adn that the more you do it even if you dont want to the better you get. I belive her I have gotten more better.

I cleaned up, everything, and left. I did not see the cats, the horses were still out. Beau was in with August and Sienna feeling fine. Ah Leah was in and June took Cisco back out after lungingn him and cleaning his hoofs.

Mothers Day, 4th time with Beau fixing his thrush back right hoof again

Got to the barn, and Patti was riding Aleah I wanted to just say hi and and then just get my boy and get things going.

Walking up to the gate and paddock, Beau saw me and was very happy. I slip the lead line hook down into the gate's opening, then open the gate, no problem, Beau steps out and grazes right away. Hes a good boy.  So very well tempered. I am very proud of him. No jumping or spooking and jerkying all walking calmly. Its amazing.

I like to get him on the nice day, and walk down the hill slowly so he can graze, it was an exceptionally nice walk down the hill. I was heard sweet sound in teh grass, i looked an a little bunny was hiding in the grass, I thought there might be another one there with him chewign on grass. it make me feel really nice.

Well Beau was great eating his way down the hill. I thinkn he was excited to be gong down the hill into the barn. I brought him in the stall so he could grab some water and hay.

Got the hot water ready before I brought Beau down. I make the water and the epson salts. It took a while to get him to put his foot in. I had to almost dance with him. I also used the rope I had. He soaked for about 8 min. He also put his hoof down flat for that whole time. I was so happy so proud. After soaking I put his hoof into a dry area, down him down. and then I keep working on the criss cross duct tape piece and mix up the iodinne sugar mixture in the diaper.

I made that up. Diaper mixture and worked on lifting his food. I know that picking up his hoof is a pain for him.

I spoke to him genlty while gong through the process of getting his foot soaked and wrapped. He was good even putting the diaper on and just pushed him on it as I laid it on the floor. He stepped back into the wrap and I tied it right up. and put the duct tape on the top and placed a couple more on to secure it. So proud of him today It was a nice visit, Ill be working with him so much more. I cant wait <3

Wednesday Night will Beau, a soak and a wrap

Drove over to the barn, just really need to take care of my Boy Beau.

Brought over the sugar, a bit more an then

He was really being a better boy than I excited

Being alone at the barn is great. I can just take him out of his stall and hes great on the cross ties, the new ones from Baker, its so much easier, hes been on the cross times so much more, hes a good boy lately.

It takes a while to get Beaus foot intot he warm water, I was bringin my own hot water by way of a gallon container, then bring another gallone of water to mix up.

I needed to have a great amount of duct tape because I need to make a bootie for him with the tape.

Beau kept on doing what I needed and I fed him snacks and mints. I brought enough mints for everyone.

I wrapped up his foot with the diaper and duct tape, I didnt have as much sugar as last time but it was enough. The diaper gets in the way of the sugr and iodine,on his foot I think.

The soak takes time and then you need to make sure that his hoof dries aout enough before you put on the next step. I had te floor pretty wet, but i knew that that hoof needed to dry it up. It takes about an hour and a half to get it all done, brush out and work the feet and then soak and wrap.

Late Sunday evening with Beau for a soak and a wrap

Krystyn said that Beau's wrap had come off, there was lots of chat from the barn after a while at about the same time. Seemed like maybe chat together. I did not appreciate all the advice that I was getting, some opinions from people that could use better advice for themseves.

At home I got a gallon container of Hot water for his Epson salt soak, and the rest of the ingredients were at the barn. I had a gallon of filtered water in the car. I also brought a bag of spearmint lifesavers.

Decided I needed to go over and treat Beau's thrush. Thrush is a condition that he has had the whole time I have owned him. Its important to pick his feet, keep him dry and clean.

I know I need to train Beau to do better with his feet. Pick up, hold, not kick, and pick up when I ask.

When I bought him from K, she did not know what was wrong with his feet, she said, "His feet are fucked up". June said his hoofs had been infected for months. Although there is a big push to change his farrier, this will not happen.

I was a bit upset to be spoken to in the tone and manner I had been busy all day doing chores, yard work and meeting up with Raychel and the boys. So after dinner and chores I knew the barn would be quiet peaceful and no stress for him.

I was a bit worried about working with Beau, getting him to pick up his feet,

As I left Bob said, "make sure you are safe" He also asked me if I thought I could do it along.  I thought about it. I know it is very hard. June and Krystyn could do it but I actually helped them by keeping his mind busy. No one would be there to keep him occupied, just me.

I drove over to the barn, it was still a nice day, light out but soon it would be dark. It was about 630pm.

The barn was quiet, and all the horses made sounds as I walked in. I took all of my supplies out on the bale of hay. The First Aid bag with the wraps and diapers, duct tape, Sugar, iodine.  I felt good about using the Poltice pad from 3M with athletic wrap.

I took Beau out, of the stall, put him on the cross ties, I was a little stressed that I wouldn't be able to do it that it was too much for me. I looked Beau in the eye and I told him all I was feeling. How I felt inadequate compared to how smart he was and how experienced he was with his care. I held his head and held his body in a hug. I wanted him to feel my love. I cried as I spoke with him. I was sad but its because I thought I might be failing him. <3

I became emotional, talking to him from my heart. I brushed him, all the way from his had dow his main his back rump and under his belly. I kept talking to him. As I began to think what I was to do next.

I brought out the small low pan, filled it with the hot water and mixed the cooler water in it so that it was plenty warm. I added about a cup of epson salts. we sort of danced around trying to get his hoof into the pan.  it took me a while. He held his hoof into the pan, at a tilt.

After a while I begain to splash the epson salts on his frog. He was in the water for a while. I am still worried that his not getting all of the cleaning of the frog.

The first thing I did was to brush him dry and to get the poltice pad, wet it in the warm water. I cut the piece to fit his bottom hoof.  I brushed out the hoof, dried, and put the pad on the bottom of hoof. I got the athletic wrap started to wrap his hoof.

It was a bit of a flurry of movement, Beau stepped around as I was getting ready to put the duct tape wrap on his hoof. He scraped if off onto the ground. I felt like I needed to take a break.

I grabbed the diaper, mixed up the iodine and sugar, fixed the duct tape dried off his goof.

I also found d a way to get him to lift his hoof, I do a tap to his front hoof, then give him a reward. It really worked out every time Beau listened to me and did what I needed, I gave him a spearmint and  had one too. I had a bag so it went along pretty well.

I was able to mix up the iodine, put the sugary mixture into the diaper and then get it on his hoof, wrap the hoof up ad taped it around the top. It was quite a trick. I was very proud of how well Beau worked with me. I want to make sure that we keep doing this.

I was happy with myself and with Beau, got the job done. Im not sure just how long it will stay on but Im happy to try again if I need to tomorrow after Doug's mother' the wake.

Saturday 1030am to put on his wrap with Krystyn

Got to the barn, as they were doing the stalls. 80 degrees, humid.  The goats were in the fields and and the horses were out. Bonnie, Kevin the young kid, Krystyn.was finishinng up cleaning the goats stalls. Beau was on the hill in his paddock. when I got there he was very happy.

I really see a difference inn him. I know his hoof was feeling better. We walked down the hill while eating as much of the green grass as he could get down his throat. We walked pretty well down the hill into the barn.

He was very nice, well behaved, made me feel so good. I walked him into the barn, I had all of the stuff set up.

I got all the supplies I bought that June had suggested, plus, the pads that all you have to do it to wet it and use it in place of the sugar, iodinne

Krystyn set up the duct tape, she twisted everything, the soak, I set up the warm water with epson salts.

He put his foot into it pretty well. I am proud of him.

He soaked prett well and very quickly, Krystyn cut a beautiful piece of the special gause for the bottom of his foot.

Krystyn was very happy to hear that I had it, no need to use the iodine, sugar on the diaper.

Just the wet the pad, put on the elasticized medical wrap, then put the duct tape on the bottom, twisted it up to a beautiful hoof, like a ballet slipper.

I waited keep him inside, let him cool off.

Brought him back up to his paddock, he was great, I had the oatmeal bars, and bandana. We played inn the paddock, I shut the gate and he played with me walking backwards for 50 steps.

I thnk he'll be feeling better soon.

I brought him back to his paddock, and returned to the sweet peaceful barn to sit quetly listening to music and doing the supplements. I finished off the Bug off, did 15 bags for the next 2 weeks.

Patti showed up and she got Ah-leah readied for a ride in the arena. Lynn was helping Patti. She had Ah Leah all saddled up for a short ride in the arenna.

As I was leaving I met up with June, she and I both feel the same way about the US and the freedoms we are losing with this terrible president so we talked for a while as she pulled into the driveway and I was on my way out.

Wednesday at 4pm, lesson started but, slow thought he was tired, it was his hoof

When I pulled into the barn, Lynn and Patti were up to something.

I walked into the ailse of the barn, Patti smiled at me and put her finger to her lips, shhhh.

I saw that the saddle was on Ah-Leah. she had ridden in arena with her and Lynn held the lead line. They wanted to put everything away before Krystyn got up to the barn. I told them I had a lesson at 4pm. Every thing was cleaned up by the time Krystyn got there.

Again I had gotten Beau, walked him down from the paddock. He's alot easier to manage from the paddock to the  front of the barn. He grabbed as much as he could from the grass. We got back as fast as needed. I arrived early so we could have that time to snack on green grass.

Dave said he would be back to see Beau to remove his winters early this week, It was Wednesday no word.  was dissaponted. We walked around and I brought him into the arena, he was happy. He seems to be ready for what ever we are doing. It makes me feel great. Interested in his walking backward tricks he also loves his bandana. I could not be more happy with him. But picking up his feet just going ok. His feet have always been very sensitve. Well he did his good listening to me as I lunnged him. I am proud we did the side he hates, he did good. I stayed in form and Krystyn said we are doing good. We went on his favorite side, and he moved slowly. I told Krystyn that he was not looking his usual he looked like he didnnt feel too good.
She felt his hoof, warm we called of the day.

She was going to check his hoofs, she picked up the back one. I was worried, hes alot better but still hes got that wild kick. She got the pick and picked his hoof, well blood everywhere. She hought it was an absess, I texsted Dave he called and said itw was an infectinn he would be out next day.

The blood was thick and really deep red.

Saturday before Chases Birthday party Sunday

Missed Patti, she came early to do her work with the horses, then she was going to wait for some appliances to be delivered. I was able to work with Beau, just a short work out in the arena, keeping up with his lunging, about 5 minutes. I noticed that Lynn did not really like June. The other people that have the horse Chewy with the sway back were in the arena after me, and then. Lynn quickly saddled up August as soon as she got there. Very little words right out to the arena to ride with the couple that own Chewy.

  • I was happy to get in the time with Beau, do his exercises walking back several times.
  • Lunged 5 minutes
  • Brushed him out and gave him tons of snacks

Wednesday with Krystyn

Krystyn was flexible and was able to meet up with me and Beau at 6, I wanted to meet up at 4

When I got there Krystyn was bringing in the horses

After I volunteered to bring in Sienna but I had to get Beau ready so I didnt bring in any other horses just got Beau ready. Went into the stall and brushed him out.  Talked a little bit with Krystyn about stuff and got the lung line, put up the boards to help to keep Beau in the arena

He was super cute. He enjoys getting the lighter halter on I like it too.

I lunged him with out the whip, I was impressed with his not really needing one

Krystyn got the whip out and coached me on how to use it.
I lunged him for about 15 minutes and he did good

but he didnt run will not until the end

Kystyns said about 15 minutes lunging is good.

She thinks he did better this week than last week. Also I was able to lunge him during my visits.

Easter Weekend Busy with Chase on Saturday and Easter dinner with Joe, Ashley, Val and GEorge on Sunday afternoon

Saturday short visit to the Barn, snacks in the paddock 79 degrees not much time with Beau.
Patty was brushing out Muke, hes so cute loved his apple. Gave him snnacks as she was brushing him.

Went up with Beau, did some exercising, the mud wasnt bad, I crawled under the fence. He seemed so happy to be hanging out. The bugs are back, I didnt have a mask on him yet, and there is no spray. I am worried about his responses to the bugs on his legs.

He was doing anything for a bite of snack. I even just tapped his leg and he lifted it for his hoof.

Weekend rainy cold miserable Saturday 30s Sunday 40s

Went over to the barn on Saturday, went around 1 or 2pm, planned not to do too much because I had been sick on Friday UTI very painful. We had snow in the morning, it made me feel sad.
Well it was a really nice visit. Put the cavasson on Beau he understands that he is dong something special when I put on the training halter. It makes me feel good.
Beau and I did only a little bit of snacks in the bandana, he walked backwards 4 5 different 10 steps. I wasnt going to push the lunging on Sunday.

I was happy to get his supplements taken care of while he was able to run around in the arena, stretch becuase not knowing that he wouldnt get out on Sunday either its important to keep him busy and get his strong after the long winter.
Patty is working on Ah Leah. She really likes to touch her, Ah leah does not like it. He goes to bite her. I would stop doing it and just try to catch back up, seems she is feeling badly.
Because Krystyn had put up my cross ties I felt really good about it. I put Beau in the arena, got his supplements together, gave everyone on both sides hay.

Patti does this really nice thing she fills up everyones bucket so that all the  horess have enough water. I really appreciate how sweet and thoughtful that is.
Beau stretched in the arena, reached for his bandana and sort of requested to play a few games and do his back steps

Sunday
46 degrees less wet pn an off raining
4 min lumging, he spent alot of time in the arena.
Bonnie fed the horses, just took the bucks of grain and threw them into the stalls. Beau was already done with his work out, back into his stall. I know he was a stinker for some of the time in the arena but its not like he was with Cisco, now that Cisco is on this side, htere is a diff horse on the corner of the

Time to restart Beau for training Wednesdays with Krystyn at 4pm

It was cold but sunny our first meet up

I let krystyn know that we had lost alot of our progress, Beau and I worked in the paddock great but the arena was not as good as it used to me.

What I learned today:

  • Learning to lunge him, hes senstive and you have to stand exactly at his barrel
  • He will come in if I dont remind him but using my pointer and the hands correctly to call him and encourange him to keep walking
  • His other side going to the right is still the most difficult.
  • Krystynn said that someone in his lift taught him that he needed to fight back, sort of when you ask him to calm down, or response for him to behave, he has a reaction to be bigger and to challenge with all his weight.
  • When spooked sometimes they go to you for comfort but they are just too big babies
  • Beau is sensitive to the absolute perfect conditioning
  • Kystryn has experienced some of the same things in all the horses
  • I am all set to work with Krystyn all spring if possible.
  • She thinks that the goal of getting him to go out walking, if I keep at him is managable.
  • she finds it strange that hes good in his paddock but a total pushy jerk in teh area
  • When I accidenntly use the lead lunge line to get Beau t straighten out innstead of working frhom his rear, it it a cue to come into the middle.
  • 10 minutes of lunginng for him is enough
  • Left side is Beau is his good side, right side isnt was easy.

Last weekend only got Saturday in Rainy cold

Beautiful afternoon with my horse and with Patti, I culd find the cats but put out some snacks for them.

I was able to do chores stayed for a while and then went home had to skip Sunday so many things to do and then watch the boys at Raychels for her and Joe to go to the Celtics game.

Cold damp 30s Kitties so cute Beau did good on cross ties and a lil kicky at grooming his tail

Didnt get over to the barn until about 3pm, it has been snowing at home a little bit. The rain is cold and constant. I didnt have any cat food, the kitties were pretty aloof, meaning when I came into the driveway. I had opened a can of tuna at home and put into a zip lock. When I pulled in the farm road, there were a field full of turkeys in a sort of foggy field. I saw that Patti was mostly the only one there. All the horse were in because of the bad weather. The big change was that the new hay feeders in each of the paddocks. This is to keep the hay clean and dry. If the hay is in the sand or the dirty ground and then the horses eat it they can become very sick.

Well I gave every horse and the goats 2 hand fulls of the pepermint treats. Took Beau out into the arena. I do not work with him in the arena any more. His behavior has changed into something that I am not going to tolerate.

Long week it feels good to visit the barn. Last week I spent my time with him in the paddock doing some working on his pick up bandana and also was able to relax in the paddock.

Well this week, I brought him into the arena to let him run, jump and relax. He went over to the new horse that is in Cisco's stall and did the annoying that they do. I wanted to not respond but had to go over there and yell at him. I know I should go back and ignore him. I did some chores and let him rest and walk around til he became bored. It was nice.

I took him in after a while and put him on the cross ties. He was pretty good, I had to close his stall door so he didnt do anything stupid while I was walking with him like charge into his stall.

As I gently bushed.his tail by taking it in my hand and bringing it around to the side.

Beau responds to this in a terrible way, he takes his back leg and kicks out. It does not seem to be a good thing. Is he in pain? I think so.  He picked up his front feet really good I didnt ask him about the back, we are making progress and it can be slow.

Before getting to the tail I did his body with a soft brush and then saw that he was actually starting to shed. Beau's shedding is nothing like Duke's, where I had to work very hard to get his fur to come off and heloved being groomed so much. I totally bonded with him on the cross ties brushing him cleaning his feet brushing his mane. It was heaven. I miss him.

Well he cleaned up good and then I put Beau back into this stall, and grabbed his supplements so I can make up some bags. I made about 8 and will make more tomorrow I need some more fold over baggies for te job. I got the new Horseshine and am thinking about the Bug Off so that he might be happier this summer. Im going to upload some pics later.

Good visit last week Saturday

I was only at the barn on saturday last week but it was a great visit, not as long as I wanted but thats been my life lately.

I was feeling alot better since my huge bump with Beau walking in, but I did locate the rock I had landed on. My huge bruise is the same size as my rock.

Sunday we were going up to April's house for a really great visit, so I had to make sure I was able to spend a nice day with my boy on Saturday. Even though I didnt stay long, it was long enough then,
I locked my keys in the car. Bob came and picked me up, brought me home and then I took his car to go grocery shopping, I was so embarrased

Patti waited with me until Bob came it was very nice of her.

I spend the whole time up in the paddock iwth Beau, then I had to take off.

Quick Visit on Saturday, but exciting too

Had to share out sthat I was able to go to see Beau on Saturday, late about 4pm or so
I was grabbing some hay for Steve's bunny, Sweetie and then I had to give everyone some oatmeal treats.
As I was walking around doing chores I notieced more birds singing, which I Like. Patti had come and gone. I gave her Sienna some extra love. I grabbed some treats and gave everyone one in their paddocks some oatmeal bars.

I had to go to the store before I got to the barn to make sure I had enough cat food for the cats, I truly love them. I parked my car so that they both could see it, blue truck. Sure enought they both poked their head out.

Then as I was grabbing soem stuff oout of my back of my truck, Krystyn turned into the driveway. I walked over and thanked her for taking care of Beau and we talked a little bit about her helping him and if he was a good guy or not. SHe said he behaved. I asked if she would be interested in doing soem ground work with me because he had gotten fresh. She said they were all alittle bit fresh from the winter.

We decided that a Wednesday night would be best for us. I felt relieved, Beau is a great horse but hes doing a domineering man thingin the arena. She semmed to understand.

I asked about Sienna and she said that she's worried about her beause she's having issues getting up thsi puts some concern into the way that I talk to Patti. She said Sienna is almost 30, this puts the pressure onher hopefully she's feeling better. there is a good chance that Patti shoudl ahve stopped riding her a couple of years ago. I like how Katz says to start Beau slow in teh arena to get him strong. I know thats important, but many do not.

Setting up some time with Krystyn I can work with him and get him a little bit stronger.

Well I was briig him in with Krystyn was briging in the horses.

We were walking backwards down the hill toward the barn as his little exercise. Well He spooked, so Im facing the barn, hes walking down the hill backwards,

a split second later, hes facing the barn door at the top of the hill, Im on ground on my hip, facting outward toward the paddocks. My phone flew far not sure how I wasnt using it.

Krystyn ran over but Beau was truly confused, he was pointing his nose down to me, on the ground, wondering why I was there.

so Krystyn said, when I asked her, What happened how do I get so turned aorund?

He spooked pushed through me, I turned around a little in teh air, landed facing the other way, he was then facing toward me I stillhave his lead line and it was loose.

Not sure how it happened but would have loved ot see it.

Saturday finally no rush with Beau, warmer temps, less hazardous ice

So slippery at the barn, I brought the sand so I could sand the areas around my car space and Patti's.  We both took some sand from my truck in cups and spread it around.

Too anxious in the arena

Good on cross ties

GREAT picking up his feet

Back feet are not comfortable and he kicks a weird way thats too close to me

Today I wore my helmut

The horses need to only get out in the bottom paddocks because the ice going up the path to the top of the hill is all ice, the back barn sliding door is frozen shut.

Beau was on the cross ties, with his massage pad and he stood there for about 25 minutes without complaining. Patti was there when I got there, she had Sienna on the ties, her hoof was tattered on the edges. Patti said that Krystyn said he was coming to help, later on Jack the farrier came and fixed up the hoof and left in no time.

When I got the bandana and treats, brought Beau out to the arena. He did fgood for a while, we did 3 back up sets of 10 each.
