Both Saturday and Sunday for us, Beau's hoofs are better

Went over on Thursday for a sugar iodine bootie and Saturday for 2 soaks, took the
THURSDAY: August 27 at the barn about 8 o’clock to 930
It was another beautiful summer night at the end of summer,
which is always kind of sad. It’s a Thursday before Labor Day weekend so it was a lot of traffic during the day but at 9:30 driving home it’s quiet.
I fed the cats cat food in the barn and the hay barn and then when I came out at about 920 they were outside waiting so I had a feeling they were starving so I opened up another cat food and put it in there and that’s the last thing I did by the time I got there of course the horses have already been fed and they were in and I knew it was gonna rain tomorrow so I wanted to try to soak one of his feet well when I walked him you know I asked him if he wanted to go out into the arena and he did but he’s he’s not walking very comfortably so it’s not the hoof. The back left that I usually soak. It’s the right and he picks it up for me to let me know that it doesn’t feel good so I brought the jug, but I didn’t. I didn’t fill it with hot water at home so I had to use the water there so it’s so slow in the bathroom when you put the sticks when you put the jug under the warm water and I put it under the water and then I went ahead and got his stuff ready and I put him in. I got him to.
Saturday Aug 30th:
Talked to Krystyn along on Saturday she recommended that I could stop with the soaking and sugardine treatemnts, he was looking better.
We talked for a while, I really like her. She had a lesson coming. I helped her brinngn in a couple easy horses. Sometimes I ask if I can bringn in some easy horses, like August, Sienna and Cisco. The horses that are doubled up have some issues at the gqae. Krystyn was.watching me give Beau's back hoof attention, she suggested that I just use the hoof care in place of sugar iodine.
When I was talking to Mukey, he had blood on his nose and I asked her about it. She said its from his leg, he has a wound andn the flies do damage to the wrap.
I noticed before I left Beau's eye was swollen adn when I put him back into his stall he used the wall to itch his eye, I thought it would injure him more.

Last week kinda hot, at the Barn, Saturday, Sunnday and again Monday for a soak in the little pool
Aug 16 17 18th
Actually, Saturday was the perfect day. I walked lunch, bro when I went up to his it was hot when I went up to his.paddock he was speaking to me. He could tell who I was and I was there to get him the other horses were talking to me trying to get me to get them, but he’s my one and only We fid slot
know we walk down the roadway I could tell there’s only so far I could walk down the Greenwood road with him because he starts to act a little funny so I turn around
It was really warm on Sat and Sunday
he lunged a little bit he worked on his backward steps probably did about. I think he did a set of 10 which is 100 altogether really happy.
soaked his left back leg. It went fairly well.
Put his supplements together
I think we did everything I went home and I felt really good. I had a full day and Patti was there. June didn’t come till late. It was great.
Sunday was different.
i’m doing voice to text for this post,so Saturday again he’s been better at the gate. He was great Saturday Sunday he seemed lethargic almost when I was asking him to back up at the gate do I could put him out, he was I mean he was happy to see me, but he seemed preoccupied. I couldn’t get him to back up. I had to give him like a little a little tap with the lead line. He finally backed up. He didn’t charge we walked down the hill. You know he tries to push me around. I have to push him back so I use the crop to point him where we are going. I didn’t know I didn’t wanna bring him in to the arena. It’s just so hot. It was 95+ it was just humid and sticky and gross so I am you know we kept walking. He did pretty good. He was eating grass on the side of the barn. Somebody was in the front. The new people brought their dog that guy was riding their horse hard, bumping all over the place while his wife was playing with the puppy and staying in the shade part of the barn.
when I put the hose on very light. He seems to like to walk around like I’m lunging him. You know I try to get him to do both sides so I get him to do both sides and all of a sudden he steps funny on his foot and he begins to limp and he’s picking his foot up and showing me that it’s painful and I’m pretty worried about him so I bring him in and you know I’m worried I let him go in his stall for a little while and then I took some pictures and I contacted Krystyn and I said I think something is up. You know we think it could be thrush. I picked out his hoof as best possibly ble. Krystyn on the phone commented that it could be thrush, abscess or a rock so I waited everybody left. I sat with him and he was in his arm and put him ties. Then put him in his stall for a while then I put him on the cross ties to take a couple pictures while I did some chores.
put bim back in his stall Kristen came up. She took a look I tried to soak it. I gotta check my pictures. I think I tried to she you know she said we’ll keep an eye on it the next day Monday
On Monday
I texted her. She said he was the same and he went out so I went up there and decided that I was gonna get his maybe I could soak both of his feet his back left that he had been having thrush with and his right which he just hurt yesterday I mean over the weekend so I brought the baby pool and I got a container off by nothing and filled that up halfway with hot water and then brought the hot water over got to the barn. It was just Patti Monday afternoon. I probably was moping you know doing things like looking for jobs and stuff like that and then he ended up like I picked his foot up as hard as it is and put it in the water and he kept it flat. He went to try to dump it but it’s the small baby pool and he couldn’t dump it so he had it in there for 15 minutes. He took a break and then five more minutes. I did not wrap his foot. He at the end he was he was acting had enough and I thought you know could be trouble so I let him go made sure it was picked before I put it in. I brushed it out. I brushed both sides. I don’t know if it’s sensitive hoof. I actually think his foot is sensitive. It’s like you trying to, but you know what do I know he’s not due to have his stuff done until like September 3 so we’ll see.
Got over to barn finally this week, Recovery & hospital visits made it hard
It was a nice day, this weekend was the 4H Fair I was not able to bring the kids, Raych's or Joes but its ok Bob was home from surgery and the reaction to the tube removeal procedure. First week of no work too. Its been crazy.
But today, I was able to get over to do the soak we needed yesterday too. I plan to go over on Wednesday for another soak and do supplements.
Around 2pm I headed over, had so much to do. Grabbed Beau from his paddock area, brought an apple up today. He was really into eating that apple and he walked quickly down to the barn front. I hosed him off perfectly, one direction and then move to the other side. He wasnnt too innteresed in being a jerk. Thats wondnetful. I brought him into his stall. He loves his stall. I saw last week how he loved to tear into his hay so I put him in to relax, grab some water and chill out. I put some fly spray onn him. He just kept eating as I sprayed him.
We did about 70 backward steps, with cut carrots for the reward. He rann and rolled but nothing dramatic when running. I let thim chill out and play in the arena. He walked around rolled again and then I brought him down to the cross ties. I used his special halter today, he looks great in it annd its more comfortable.
I got the little pool ready put in some epson salts, warm water to disolve the salts. Put Beau on the cross ties and brushed himout while he soaked in the baby pool, well actually I soaked his foot into the small pan, and then moved the baby pool over. He asked to have both feet soaked separately. the first one got out the dirt. I was able to dig out the hoofs ok today.
I was able to stay to get his chores done but i couldnt get the supplements done. It was just his soak. I also brought the spray thing so I could spray the special stuff on his hoof. He let me wokr on his hoof. I was really glad he was cooperative. I had to leave after a while. Brought in Peanut and Romeo for the night.
Felt like I did pretty good but not everything, still need the to soak maybe wrap and also see if we could do some work in the arena. Maybe lunge maybe Ill do open run.
It was a good enough day, short but I was able to meet up with Raychel, Joe Wes and Chase from a great dinner from 99.

I really felt the love Beau did it all
Saturday
85 degrees, got to the barn and it was just Patty, the horses were out, Patty was doing the extra cleaning.
She said that the place was a mess when she got their the stall were full of poop. She thinks that the are not cleaning up like they should. I had just come from Bonnies house I was dropping off my board check. She said that they cleaned the stalls this morning but Patty said that they were a mess whenn she got there.
- Walked the road, grazed along the way
- Did a run around in the arenna
- Rolled and ran like crazy
- In the arena walked around and we did the backing up and turning each side doing such a nice job. Hes a little rusty but caught on everything pretty quickly
- Soaked his hoof, Its hard to get him to keep the soakinng bucket up right but it worked
- I was able to dig out his hoof iwth the hoof pick. He picked up his hoof lightly and I dug out this hoof after it was soaked in epson salts. I gave his hoof a squirt of the Abolize stuff while his hoof drained.
- After he was drained, I saw that Beau wants to be cooperative
- Beau was great on the lead line as I was working with him.
- I gave him a shower very gently and when Patty held his lead line for me, he sort of acted like a little jerky boy. He may have been worried that he wasnt going to get ennoguht attention from me. It gives me a great feeling that hes wanting to have all the attention from me, his mom <3
- I have a new way to wrap his hoof, instead of using a sheet of duct tape that I make by putting duct tape in a criss cross thats about 12 x 12, I am using a piece of feed bag, its basically a tarp material and taping the diaper down with the iodine and shugar. I made the concoution, and cut the diaper and the piece of tarp in a square and then cut some strips of tape to wrap around the hoof after I get the diaper position, just tape it up. I like the idea.

Thrush Treated Beau's hoof and wrapped it
It is a warm day about 80 maybe 82 but I was cool after my swim. The sun was warm for the horses. I went up to the top of the hill. Although the other horses made some sounds, Beau only moved toward the gate. He wasnt to barge out but because the gate opens in, he has to back up to get out. He listens. Its like hes not even the same horse as last year. This is very hopeful for me. He is a good boy who really tries. It seems very different than when I felt worried that he would push me around whlie I was in the center of the arena. This was difficult for me because there weretime that he seemed to want to be a jerk while we worked out together. I did not feel comfortable because he was not a good horse during those times. He is wa different than last year.
I was able to get him walked arounnd a bit outside, did some very nice grazing in the sun, and then put him in his stall so he can drink water and grab more hay. Bugs were bitting him but his little leg boots for protectinng him on the leg from those terrible biting bugs.
After he was in his paddock, I brought him into the arena and he was prtty happy What he liked doing best was his walking backwards, he did about 70 or 80, pretty good amound. He followed me around and I put his lunge line on him. It was funny, he was all about following me around. It wasnt really the snacks but he was engaged in working withme. I did many voice Woah to get him to stop after the walking with me. He was listening. I was happy to see how happy he was to cooperate.
I was just Patti and me she had ridden in the arena, Ah Leah. I know she really like to ride her but I wonder if she is strong enough. I dont know that she lunges her and its hard on their backs.
Ten times on one side and about six on the oposite side. He was very good.
I used his work out halter that is very soft but not so good on the cross ties.
I got his hot water I brought from home and epson salts. He soaks just ok but I was able to dig out his hoof. He picked his foot up for me when I was putting onn his wrap. I wanted to chainge out the duct tape by using balck. I had enough sugar and got him wrapped for the night I imagine that it will fall of tomorrow. Beau was a really good boy as I worked on his foot/hoof. I was able to get his foot cleaned with the pick but not the brush on the pick. He soaked ok and then I wrapped him up with sugar and iodine. He turns his hoof so I can work on it and also I am able to pick up his hoof. I think his foot is painful for him.
I watched a video that Kristie took with her special camera of me training Beau a couple of yeasr ago. He was very attentive and even skipped along the poles.Today he did not run in the arena and we did some lunging but I didnt expect too much. We walked otgether he went 10 times onn his favorite side moving to the left, then he did a good transition to the other way. He does nnot make me nervois at all. lunging.

Back from Sandwich Cape Vacation and was over to the barn Sat & Sunday
Saturday the barn was very busy, there is a new horse named Tess her owner Bridget and her very nice Mom. When I pulled up, Bridget was outside the barn, very concerned pacing back and forth. The barn was so busy. Patti was in the ailse, Th ewoman who owns Chewy and Mac was in the arena, doing a virtual lsession I guess with a trainer. She was lunging and talking to her phone.
I talked iwth all of them for a while. For some reason Sienna was in, it was fairly comfortable, breezy, sunny. After a long while in the barn I walked up to the paddock to see Beau. He saw me and was excited, he came to the gate, as usual I tend to walk into the metal and sort of check him to see if he is engaged or pre occupoied. When hes looking around, past me, to feel like hes threatened or just not in the presence with me, I try to go into the paddock and get him thinking. Today he was pretty focused, so I clipped him over the gate (so he doesnt charge, not a word I used with Duke) an ope the gate going into the paddock thats safer. Then make him back up, thats the test to see if hes listening. THeres tons of grass, so he could push out and act like a jerk. but hes good and slowly walks halfway out while I have to push him along to get him out the gate and let go, hes muchilng away.
Brouight him and did his supplements. It took a while but he was a sweetheart in his stall. I spend some time to shower him before going in, it was short and I keep the water at a very low pressure. He likes it alot that day he was good.
Sunday, they were in because of the rain in the morning IM guessing. June was in the arena, Patti was wokring on stuff, basically with Ah Leah. She said things were going good. Beau has been just great really. I got a note that I need to step up the work on his hoof. I did a soak but I want to wrap it this week with the iodine and sugar. I boutht some nice black tape for his wrap, not sure its quality but it will look great :).
I spend sometime talking with June, she was talking about how Cisco's hoofs were weak and she was concerned, wrapping them a certain way with these special hoof covers with a cast like materials and she has some special stuff she puts in his bottom to keep the bacteria down and prevent infection. She blames the barn environment, she sais she wished she could retire him in a place that is not soaked paddocks and dry enough to keep him healthy hoofs.

Only went to the barn on Sunday, too busy on Saturday
Pretty hot on Sunday
Needed to see my sweet Beau
He was pretty stompy up at the paddock, very happy to get out
Last week, July 5th there was a huge horse fly on his back. He was having a really hard time to get it off his back. They land right where he cant get it with his tail.
Still Sunday out in the paddock, Beau did ont have his fly mask on, I felt bad for hm. He really needs soemthing.
I was able to get the new fly boots or tights on him. LIght teal color, they look great!
I took him down from the hill into his stall for water and chewing (sort of settle down a bit) and out into the arena, we did our exercises He is very cooperative, I am using snacks but I think I need to work out something else. Clicker or I added the pats on the side as a thank you sign. Hes super sweet to me and I am getting confidance in his personality, not so jerky lately.
He appreciates the soak, but I see his foot is heavy to pick up. He needs the exercise that I plan for him later in the year to keep strong.

He was pretty good for us

Heat wave started Sunday, missed Saturday, Hay Day
So hot at home, getting ready for the 4th, because of the yard work out back.
- Went over to Raychel's pottery show, at the tattoo shop
- Then headded over to the barn, it was so hot.
- The horses were all in, Patti was sweeping, taking care of Ah Leah.
- When. Iwalked in Beau was in his stall, very happy
- Patti had rinsed off Beau, he was happy almost smiling at me when he saw me.
- Beau's been so sweet, not like last year, He seemed to want me to get him out of his stall.
- June showed up, all happy, she was caring for her horse and then she said she was going to work iwth Riley the red thorobred horse that was a rescue
- She was so kind, talking to me about her horses, she has been very candid on working with horses and their hoof issues especially thrush. Last week I gave her a bottle of absorbine thrush treatment that she had recommended, She is very happy about it, she mentioned it again.
- She let me know that she was looking to use the arenda and she had suggested that I could get in there if Beau needed some working together. As I was talking to Beau, he was sort of excited to get into the arena. I was very happy with this and decided that I need to begin his work outs again.
- We did about 80 plus steps backward, it was very good
- hes become quite loving and cooperative. I am happy to work with him so much more and I want to make sure that his thrush gets better.
- June is going away for 3 weeks she said that Beau was so beautiful, he points his toes when he runs.
- Last week, Krystyn said that Beau has gotten so much better to bring in etc work with.
- Today, Sunday was put otgether an epson salts warm water bath, while I was preparing the foot soak, he was almost asking to have me soak his hoof. He sees that we are going to work his feet each week. He tries to left them more and more. I am feeling a great feeling of progress and that like June says, he likes the attention that we are working on his tasks toegether.
- As I prepared the bath Beau was on the cross ties, we worked on picking up his feet as I asked him. I know that his feet are uncomfortable, especially with the hot weather.
- I had brought 2 new types of snacks, a carrot wafer type and a harder peppermint cookie, I thin its too hard.
- Ill get more of teh carrots ones but not the others.
- I wish I could stay longser, Beau is ready to start training again, Im looking forward to it <3
- The people with the new horse Mack, June told me that the horse has some thrush issues that are like BEau, the farrier said not to pick the feet because they are so in trouble.
- He was a horse that was in the stalla lot, June said, she called him a saddle horse.

Saturday was a check in and Sunday a couple hours focused on his back hoof
last week Beau got his Dr Katz visit but I oculd not go and help.
Krystyn good him for me and she said later on Sunday when I saw her that he was really getting better to handle. She said, he was good for Dr katz. I was very happy.
STill working his feet, got to squirt the stuff into his hoof,
did a soak
Talked with June, she shared her issues with doing the shoes and needed an extra hand when shoeing some of the more difficult horses.
I told her how thankful I was for her encouragement, she was truly touched, showed her I got the Aborbine Thrush stuff and decided to give her my extra bottle when she said she ran out and was not able to order some she needed it sunday. It seemed like a nice trade :)
Soaked his hoof did some exercises on hoof pick ups getting a bit better. His hoof hurts him I can tell it does. Did the supplements hung out and gave him carrot bites. Honestly I think they are too much of a choking hazard, apple pieces and softer snacks that break out are best.

Rain Saturday & muggy, buggy and 70s Sunday
Saturday I was able to go over to the barn in the afternoon,
The rain was heavy, but it was very nice.
I took Beau into the arena and me and Patti just chatted for a while it was pretty cool actually. I grabbed a bale of hay and put it in the arena. Beau chewed away. They did hay this week and it was kinda green. I dont think that one of the mares like it, Juliet, she kicked the door of her stall so hard that it was scary.
That day we were able to get in a soak for his hoof. He tilts his foot in a dainty way its super cute but it makes it so his hoof is not flat against the water in the soaking. June on Sunday showed me a way to pull on his tail to the direction that you need Beau to flatten his foot and he will change his weight in a shift that helped him stablze his weight.
On the way home I was driving over the Concord River bridge and saw a painted turtle trying to get up on the sidewalk and there was no way for him to get back into the water because the river was blocked by the bridge railings, dividers and soem strange bulky piecies at the edges so no animal could get through or over into the water. I turned around quick parked on Elsie ave and ran to get him on the side of the road. I brought him back to Elsie Ave and put him in the poison ivy path to the edge of the river.
I am using a super soft brush on Beau now, the ones that they use on face only, super soft brush and I brushed him all over. He loved it so soft, he did that crazy thing with his lip. I know that is the one for him <3
The new people brought in a new horse on Saturday his name is Mack. Hes about 4 years old and very cute. August is trying to make him her gigilo ha ha.
The nice people that own Chewy and Mack are always so considerate and they ask me if I am done in the arena. So sweet, I think that their horses are very lucky to have them. June said that the new horse bucked her at a cantor.
Sunday
Skipping right to Sunday because I am thinking of it and it was pretty exciting. Well for one thing it wasnt pouring out and the horses were able to be outside, but when I went up on the hill my guy Beau was pretty grumpy, I saw that hes been moved again to another paddock, it sort of stinks I wonder what jerkface thought that they wanted Beaus paddock. THe best thing is that Beau cant be with another horse or hell kill them or something. I dont know
Anyway when I got up to the hill the gate opens kinda dumb its crooked, its the one that Dusty is usuaally. Beau didnt care. But Im afraid that they are not going to have Beau out for the the day. Sort of crappy. Well I brought him and and the bugs were so huge and bitting him all over that Beau was grumpy and ready to not even graze he wasnted to get out of the heat soetimes sunny day and get back to his safe stall. He at one point was sort of running down the hill to keep moving and avoid the biting bugs.
We went in and I got him right into his stall. I started to prep his soak but waited for him to relax a bit, sort of calm down. there was a show at 4H today and I didnt go up to it but I wanted to. The 2 people with the 2 horse were working their2 boys. THe woman took their new young horse for a walk down the road. Very sweet. Well Patti was working with Sienna and she was going to put her back into to her stall when she was done with her work.
I let beau calm down and drink get some hay and then I got the pan of water ready and put in the epsons salks. I noticed that Patty was suddenly wanting to help out.
June arrived prob from the 4H show and she was talking about the new horse Riley that was one of the rescues that the nurse has been careing for. She was excited to because she had a rope halter and wante to or work with him.
I asked her to wait to bring the horses it or just give me a few minutes to get Beaus hoof into a soak. She becaues very helpful, she saw how I was trying to make some progress on the soak, she taught me to pull on his tail to help him flatten his foot and she gave me some info on a medication that may help his frog heal. She ended up picking his feet and Beau dumpoed the water I didnt mind he does it now and then.
She got right down with Beau, grabbed his hoof an looked at his bottom.
Later she told me that its ok that i dont think Im doing it perfect. she held his head feed him so I could get the wrap, she was excited about me making the wrap and she said it looked great, she even tested the eded and said it was a snug fit.
I really appreicied her help and her support. Ill write more tomorrow. seemed ve

Sunday the barn was so busy
Big weekend watched Chase overnight at our house his first sleepover.
Headed over as soon as I could, Raychel grabbed Chase around 1230 or 1pm and had a coffee grabbed everying and then headded over to the barn.
Patti was on Sienna, the nice people were expecting a new horse Mack, 4 years old. He seemed sweet after Kristin and Krystyn was able to get him off the trailer.
Was up at the paddock, handing out snacks apples bandanas and doing Beaus supplements
I was able to do about 16 baggies and there were 2 left over still in the bin so we should be ok for at least 2 weeks.
There was lots o people there, Lynn, Lynns father, 2 people getting new horse, Krystyn, Kristin Patti myself. June had just left like crazy Sunday.
Needed to do a soak but there were just too many people there. He lasted 2 minutes, sigh I ran out of snacks and asked Patti to hold his head and keep him sort of stable, she didnt make it. I think he soaked a total of 2+ minutes not much.
We did some back ups, we ate come grass inthe field walking down. I am looking forward to when they do the fields and cut that crazy grass.
For his feet to really heal he needs to walk and use his feet to get those hoofs all clear.

Wednesday Night a soak and hoof care
I left the house after 730 to head over to the barn. it was about 70 degrees and just beautiful out. It had been since early Saturday morning since I had seen Beau and we really didnt do too much. Cant catch a break,
On Saturday the rain was crazy and the horses were outside. I was inside working on lots of stuff but the horse were outside. I didnt bring Beau in but hung out with him at the paddock. Worked with him, doing small things. Saw Krystyn as she left from doing the chores.
Wednesday I was able to do some of my chores. Set up the the pan and do a soak, it may have not been for a along time but Beau allowed me to pick up his foot a few times. Soaked for maybe 10min or less. I used my spray bottle with the warm water and the epson salts. I did not wrap his foot, only soaked and lifted was able to pick 3 of his feet. I believe that if I keep trying and trying I will get to a point where I am cleaning his feet each week correctly. I know that soaking is very important to his healing.
I was able to apple this hooflex too He seemed mad that I put it on his feet but hes gonna after to deal with it.
Id say I was there about 60 minutes and was able to get so much completed. I still need to give him tons of snacks each time. The horses did not have enough hay so I went over to the stalls and threw hay to anyone who needed it even the goats.

Saturday and Sunday both days forecasted as stormy but sunny, cool, breezy
Saturday the horses were in, I got to the barn around 2 or 3pm. /the lady and mann were there. They are nice, talked to me, saids that their horse, Chewy had finally found a saddle that fits and they like. They were outside on the side of the barn riding around. The horses had been out that day but the threats on the weather channels said that we would have a storm. Althoguh the weather was good enough, it did rain, clouds sort of sunny but the breezes and coolness made me remember that summer s not here yet.
I was able to be at the barn for quite a while.
I got Beau out of his stall and put him in the cross ties, I was able to brush him a bit. He was happy to see me. I was pretty busy but I was able to spend so much tije with Beau. Brushed him out a bit, worked on the picking up his hoofs. Hes getting so good with me. I
I brought hm out to the arena and we walked a lung just keeping to a walk and I did not ask too much of him. He only went in one direction and we did about 100 back steps he loves to do his excerices with me.
made his soak fo rhis hoof, we was able to soak for about 3 minutes until he dumped the pan. He kept his hoof in the water (epsons salts, warm water).
As I was getting ready to soak his hoof, Bonnie came to do the feedings, she was so apologetic that she had asked me to pay for the dentist on text when I had already had the check back from her cashing it last week. When I saw her pull in I was walking to et something from my car. She had a good idea, that I could feed Beau his grain as he soaked his foot, it worked out pretty good, evenn when he dumped the pan he still stood in it and there was some of the water in his hoof. I didnt wrap his foot on Saturday.
I was able to do all his supplements for the next 2 weeks too. So alot of work got completed for the end of the month.
I loved the time at the barn on saturday, the butterfilies were flying and I saw something I have never seen before a group of about 8 butterfiles swirling around the white ones that are around in September. There was a magical day in September when I walked the woods at the end of Debs road, near the barn with a bottle of wine, cheese, crackers. it was magically that day. The barn was beautiful and I sat with my friend in a field on the grass, amazing.
Well back to the butterfiles from Saturday, I had a swallowtail swirl around me, as it flew I was able to catch a cupl pics.
Sunday was so different, in contrast to SAturdy where there was no one with me for hours, there were so many people. Patti, Emma, June, Lynn, we are all in the same ailse too. I was busy taking care of my guy.
As I walked up the hill to get him, there is was sticking his head out of the fence reaching to get grass. He looked up at me. I cant really believe he is the same horse he was the day he ploughed over me and Val last fall. Just so different. He is calm, reponsive, pays attention to everything I ask him, hes not trying to push on me, hes not trying to scare me.
The added an extra paddock up the top of the hill I think the boys are made because the ATVs care not able to buzz the horses like they did last weekend. I really think that is a jerky thing to do. Not sure about those guys being very difficult to be around with others.
I think I could start to round pen him again, I hope we will be able to get some further progress after I get his hoofs back to shape.
Well I had no problems getting him out of the paddock, the gate is great. We walked down the hill I let him eat almost every step, ife is short so what the heck.
Let him into the arena to play while I got his pan and meds ready.
Before June, Lynn got to the barn a nice woman named Emma was talking to me about riding spice. She was super nice. She was watching me take care of Beau's hoof. She later asked me if I had any Copper Cuff or soemthign liek that, its for thrush. I did not know what it was and we began to talk about her and riding and the people who own Spice and Joliet She was super nice and said when she tells Krystyn that the horses have thrush she usually does something I asked her what does she do? She said she did hnot know. It was nice taking to her about the people who own the horses and hwo she was lucky tob eable to ride and care for them. I like her.
Patti was talking to Lynn as she had arrived after a while.
Patti was close talking and they had lots of issues then June showed up. all this time I was working on the pad wrap. I had all of the duct tape lined up and I had his hoof had already soaked, and I was able to use the new spray bottle with epson salts andn warm water. As I was spraying his hoof, and toweling him off while making the duct tape wrap, they were watching me from the front of the ailse. June commented how great Beaus feet looked. Later after the other were wrapped up. she suggested that maybe Beua would benifit by front shoes, she said she has to do that or that Cisco's feet would disenegrate from the rough paddock conditions.
When everyone left June was very kind, spoke to me about how hard it is for her to care for Ciscos feet. Iw able to talk tot her about how I was struggling with the care of his hoofs but she said that she has had to come for up to 6 weeks to care for Africa's feet. She was very understanding sand said taht many do not know how to wrap a hoof, adn that the more you do it even if you dont want to the better you get. I belive her I have gotten more better.
I cleaned up, everything, and left. I did not see the cats, the horses were still out. Beau was in with August and Sienna feeling fine. Ah Leah was in and June took Cisco back out after lungingn him and cleaning his hoofs.
