Weekend rainy cold miserable Saturday 30s Sunday 40s

Went over to the barn on Saturday, went around 1 or 2pm, planned not to do too much because I had been sick on Friday UTI very painful.
Well it was a really nice visit. Put the cavasson on Beau he understands that he is dong something special when I put on the training halter. It makes me feel good.
Beau and I did only a little bit of snacks in the bandana, he walked backwards 4 5 different 10 steps. I wasnt going to push the lunging on Sunday.
I was happy to get his supplements taken care of while he was able to run around in the arena, stretch becuase not knowing that he wouldnt get out on Sunday either its important to keep him busy and get his strong after the long winter.
Patty is working on Ah Leah. She really likes to touch her, Ah leah does not like it. He goes to bite her. I would stop doing it and just try to catch back up, seems she is feeling badly.
Because Krystyn had put up my cross ties I felt really good about it. I put Beau in the arena, got his supplements together, gave everyone on both sides hay.

Patti does this really nice thing she fills up everyones bucket so that all the  horess have enough water. I really appreciate how sweet and thoughtful that is.
Beau stretched in the arena, reached for his bandana and sort of requested to play a few games and do his back steps

Sunday
46 degrees less wet pn an off raining
4 min lumging, he spent alot of time in the arena.
Bonnie fed the horses, just took the bucks of grain and threw them into the stalls. Beau was already done with his work out, back into his stall. I know he was a stinker for some of the time in the arena but its not like he was with Cisco, now that Cisco is on this side, htere is a diff horse on the corner of the

Time to restart Beau for training Wednesdays with Krystyn at 4pm

It was cold but sunny our first meet up

I let krystyn know that we had lost alot of our progress, Beau and I worked in the paddock great but the arena was not as good as it used to me.

What I learned today:

  • Learning to lunge him, hes senstive and you have to stand exactly at his barrel
  • He will come in if I dont remind him but using my pointer and the hands correctly to call him and encourange him to keep walking
  • His other side going to the right is still the most difficult.
  • Krystynn said that someone in his lift taught him that he needed to fight back, sort of when you ask him to calm down, or response for him to behave, he has a reaction to be bigger and to challenge with all his weight.
  • When spooked sometimes they go to you for comfort but they are just too big babies
  • Beau is sensitive to the absolute perfect conditioning
  • Kystryn has experienced some of the same things in all the horses
  • I am all set to work with Krystyn all spring if possible.
  • She thinks that the goal of getting him to go out walking, if I keep at him is managable.
  • she finds it strange that hes good in his paddock but a total pushy jerk in teh area
  • When I accidenntly use the lead lunge line to get Beau t straighten out innstead of working frhom his rear, it it a cue to come into the middle.
  • 10 minutes of lunginng for him is enough
  • Left side is Beau is his good side, right side isnt was easy.

Last weekend only got Saturday in Rainy cold

Beautiful afternoon with my horse and with Patti, I culd find the cats but put out some snacks for them.

I was able to do chores stayed for a while and then went home had to skip Sunday so many things to do and then watch the boys at Raychels for her and Joe to go to the Celtics game.
