Short afternoon visit,, the lady and her boyfriend were working with thier horses and Krystyn. They were working with Chewy and Mac. Callie was in her stall. The woman told me that they just need to lung Mac and then the arena would be free.
That was nice because I was able to get my new brush glove, and work on Beau's coat. I was also able to work on Beaus hoofs, lifting and he was so good I was able to pick 3 of them.He was excellent, trying to lift his hoof for me. Really engaged in hanging out on the cross ties. I decided that I did not need to tack him up. He was ok to just get some time with me. On the cross ties, getting groomed and I was able to treat his hoof with the drips hoof stuff.
I did not need to use the rope to lift Beaus hoof. I was watching Beau walk, he may be painful in his back leg. I wonder if his arthiritus has become even more painful. He wasnt really interested in walking with me. I need to make sure that we are doing the lunging work as soon as I am back at the barn.
- Ill keep putting him on the cross ties
- Grooming him even his tail
- Tacking him up with saddle and reins
- Lunging him
- Walking backwards steps
- Maybe keep him to walk with the chain on the road
Hate that the 4 wheeler was charging around all the time. I honestly do not like it yesterfdya I closed the doors back of arena and front of the aisle door too.
He wanted to steal hay, it was all over the floor of the aisle when I got there. It was ok to have him in the stall so all I had to do was to bring him out to work with him. It was cold, raw and wet. The rain was in large drops. I parked over by the cats. I only saw the yellow one again today. It makes me worry there are so many issues that could be a problem for the cats. I dont even like the german shepperd never mind the other animals like coyotes and other predators.
I swept the aisle while Beau watched me, after I got it pretty clean, I was able to take Beau out and put him on the ties. Hes been pretty good to handle lately.
I brushed him out. Hes still pretty sensitive in the back of him. I used the brush mitten so that I could touch him underneath and on his rump. It was ok for some of the brushing. I also stretched his tail, and brushed it out.
He seems pretty happy to work out with me.
In the arena, I still keep him near the wooden board area of the aisle. I put my lunger on him then decided that it was just fine to only do his hoof pick ups, he did all his feet ok, and to do his backward steps, which he did over 100 today. It was excellent.
