Riding in the Arena and then walkin with Doc & Scotti

I was so happy to go over today.  After yesterday's ride I would be happy doing mostly anything.  Scotti was there already, I was at least on time, 11am.  The lady who owns Manni was there too.  She seems to work at the barn doing lots of things.  She was tacking and working with Marnie.  Scotti and I went and got Duke, funny thing he is in a new paddock with Doc.  There are 4 horses in the back now.  The little Johnny was with Cowboy and some other horses.  It was cute, but bottom line is that Duke and Doc are doing pretty good with the locked door.  He was at the back of the paddock with a sweet little mare, he was getting close and personal with her  As soon as he saw me he dropped her like a rock.  Patti said that when Duke saw me hes like, forget you Sky, I need food more.

After that we went into the barn, tacked up te guys me on one side and Scotti and Doc on the other side.  Duke was great, I could hear Scotti yelling at Doc. I had Duke on the cross ties and he was tacked except his bridle.  I held Doc's head, she was having some problems with her sinch strap of the saddle.  I went back over to put on Duke's bridle.  Scotti was doing her warm up in the arena, I was mounted.  Duke is still kinda crappy on the mount.  Im kinda mad at him for this.  Well I finally got up and we warmed up in the arena.  He was truly uncomfortable as we walked and warmed up.  He was walking slowly.  As we did a quick trot I noticed he didn't seem happy.  The continued warm up he missed a step and then again so I told Scotti I thought he was not feeling good.  I told her she can go on with out me.  As we warmed up more, I decided that if she wanted to go into the fields I could go on foot with Duke which is kinda fun.

That way she gets out there with someone and I get to take a walk with that guy.  He did good.  We did the side field and I held Duke so he couldn't take in any grass. He had the a good head up and working attitude for the entire walk we went over by Bonnie's house and then back on the road.  It was lovely.
Back at the barn we had fun too.  I untacked him after coming in through the arena in his stall. I gave him his apple and played a little bit with Patti and Sienna.
After a bit we walked back up to the paddock and put the boys back in.  It was so sweet, I took a few pics of him so sweet.  Im a lucky lady.

This guy has all the sweet looks today.  Hes really a total peach of a guy love our walk in the fields with Scotti and Doc.

Duke solo ride, 45 degrees, 1.5m in the field and the woods

All alone with Duke, it was nice there were out in the paddocks,  Doc wanted tocome too.  He needed to wait til Scotti comes tomorrow. Duke when he saw me near the gate came running. It was so cool. It was like he was hugging me, as we walked.  I let him have alittle bit of grass he has a problem separating from the grass outside the gate.  As I closed it off, We went into the barn from the end.  I was alone so we ran through. I had given him an apple so he was feeling good.  I put up my saddle rack and put his saddle on it by his stall and put him in the tie backs.  He was so cute giving me looks. I brushed the heck out of him and he was so happy to be groomed. He wanted to go out.  I felt so comfortable in the barn alone.  Duke had a weird tail thing going on and Bonnie came over after I texted her a pic of his tail. She said he may need to be wormed or have his sheith cleaned. Woah I don't want to dbe going that anytime soon.  I think it may be the worming.
Anyway she came by and was very sweet. I prefer her. just saying.

I tacked him p still alone. We went into the arena for mouning,it went ok. Only 3 attempts and I keep him in the corner now. Im hoping this gets better.

Anyway what a great ride. There was a lady on the trailer side getting mail, we said hi to her and Duke was all sweet and walked across the road no problem alone.  I was so happy. We went into the field, Duke was kinda jerky left right and then really wanted grass, I didn't give him enough rein to reach.  He hated it. We went left and then went around the corner near the house but I dint go all the way over we cut across near the house.  He trotted the fields for a while. It was relieving to see him happy. We went around the other side of the field, in the woods at the end of the field before the woods I let him eat grass, sometimes I think its a mistake. Ha Ha
Anywant we crossed out of the field checked out the left and then trotted all the way back.  I wanted him to turn and go back down the field like Jess did with Safari, not sure we are ready yet.
He was a jem crossed back to the barn wonderful riding into field and then into barn.  2 rounds in the arena and I slipped off an hugged him all the way to the stalls. We started cleaning up. Im storing the rack in the tack room behind my trunk and I put the screw rack in the tack room on my chest.  It feels so good.  I scooped the poop in the arena some not mine and let Duke back with Doc.  They were happy about the apples.  Gave the rest of the guys watching some treats and then went back home. What a great day.  So proud of that guy Duke and his skills back into riding alone again.  Lets do the trails hes thinking (I hope).
Pictures to come soon.  Oh the new horse Johnny had a terrible scrap on his head. Im so sad for him.

He seems like a good boy but Cowboy was playing halter tag with him and the other guy too.

Ride with Scotti 60 degrees and we went into the woods

Scotti was a sweetie and asked me to ride with her this weekend. She asked me during the week and I looked forward to it all week.  I was running late but she was there.  Krystyn was walking around with a face on, Bonnie is a little bit easier to talk to lately.  She is a smart lady and hard working.  As I walked in I was excited to wear my new sweatshirt bright orange and my new helmet.  Scotti said she was feeling a little quesy but she can do out for a little bit.  She wanted to keep near the bathroom.  I thought because Duke hadn't had his Previcox today taking it slow.
We went out at first we were in the arena, Scotti and I actually have a lot in common about how we warm up our horses and she makes sure that her horse is feeling ok.  There was lots of heavy equipment vechiles around the barn today, I really don't like it.  There was even a dirt bike riding out.  its like I couldnt get out of the way.
We warmed up and then we went out the side door and heading out front.  Both Doc and Duke began backstepping a bit at the front of barn.  We went across the street quicker than usual today.  Scotti talks a lot and she gives me a lot of free advice.
I took a few nice pictures.  It was so exciting because we went into the woods.  I love to trail ride so I liked it a lot.  She got tired and felt badly so we went back to barn and the into the arena. I think that Duke did pretty good although I think hes feeling stiff.  Its good to get him out there.
