Only Sunday wiht Duke, great visit

Went out to get my sweet guy and he was chillin in the paddock with that jerk Doc.  Duke speaks to me when I get to his gate and I like that a lot.  It was threatening it may rain later.  It ended up pouring later Sunday after I left.
I loved going in with Duke and brushing him out in the stall.  He was eating the hay so aggressively. I got him out of his paddock and was very strict about keeping him from eating grass with out permission. Its that time again.  He just loves to steal it.  It makes him act like a criminal when he steals it.
the training for jumping on Duke has been going great.  When I had him brushed out I tacked him quick in the tie backs.  It was easy to get his saddle on with the lightweight pad.  I don't have to over tack him like I did at Bobbys.  Hes a different guy now.
I had it all really.  I tacked him and went into the arena.  I love wearing the rope reins Imade.
 He looks great with them.

Also he had a shower where I sprayed him off good from top to bottom.  It was hot out and I thought it had been so long I wanted to cool him down after our very short walk.  He was ok with it.  I got him out and got the hose. As I went around and around with him, I saw that he was thinking it was too cold. So I washed him as he stood and then I brought him over to the paddock.  That little horse of Scottis is not a nice horse.  When I was walking away I saw that duke wanted to dig a bit and maybe roll.  Hes so cute. when he dropped to his knee that jerky horse Dusty came over to his face and made a back kick into his face as he quickly got up.  I think that horse sucks.  I don't like him. I want to have Duke moved to another paddock where he can have fun together rnot have some small jerk that Duke could crush act like a non "bro" to him.  Duke loves friends.  This is not a friend.

First ride of the summer 2017 -

Duke and Misty
Bonnie said that the Dentist is coming on 3rd of July.  She also said that Duke was running out of pretavicox so Ill need to et a new prescription from the now vet Kerrie. Im hoping that she would call me back.  I think that maybe shes not like Craig at all.
Anyway, I was so happy to see Duke.  Sarah Wallace was hosing down Skye and she was so cute.  I really like the way she loves her horse.  Her new trainer Jacqueline something is kinda all about her self

Im more of a less focused on me and more on the ability of my horse. Anyway.  I was paying Kristen for the helmet for Melody.  Im not sure about how I feel about it.  She picked the very expensive one.  Figures.  I gave the money to Kristen and she was very happy.  Guess shes running out of dough.
Anyway I tried to get on Duke by jumping on the gate then climbing on him. Its not ready yet but Im going to keep trying.
I got the steps and jumped on him first try.  Im happy that hes getting better.
I came around and Stacie was still there, she asked if we would like to ride together. I didn't mind much I was going to just play it by ear.  Duke was pretty happy to ride, didn't have to be first didn't have to ride a certain way, just took it easy.

Stacie kind of surprised me by talking about how Townes was happy to trot and canter little tiny steps.  She was so impressed by him.  Duke likes to trot a bit at times and they were the same times. I saw that Townes and Duke sort of psyched up in the ride. It was really nice.
We had a good ride and I gave everyone peppermints. I rode a lttle bit in the arena and gave Duke a peppermint.  They seem to be the way to get him to do the right thing.  He didn't even complain about the bit and bridle.   He was excellent.
It was the first ride of the summer

Back to see Duke Friday and Saturday

Going over on Saturday after returning from Australia was impossible. I was too beat and didn't really move from the house. I slept like a dead person.

Sunday

when I got to the barn the whole group was there with tractors, large bucket trailer for hay, and tons of bails of hay.  Krystyn's brother said they did 4 buckets. It was like 96 degrees.  I had some TimTams for the group and went into the office during their break and offered em up to Bonnie Krystyn and the group.  Bonnie was happy to get them and I put them in the new refridgerator.

I rode him in the arena, walked him a mile and we grazed out back in the grass. It was so peaceful. I love my time with Duke.  Im a lucky lady.
I had so much to do. I was feeling lucky and decided to see about using the reins I made and going int the arena and riding bareback.  I know its been tough getting duke to listen but he was so great.  After I worked on him and brushed and cleaned him, when I placed the lead line on him and walked to the arena I could tell he really missed me.  <3

Monday after work

The Greenwood team was there again and there were less people but still them worked so hard. I cleaned him up and went out to the outdoor arena and walked him a little bit more.  We watched them do the hay. It was fun and I loved having him with me outside even if it was 99 degrees.  He was taking in water and also just enjoying things.  Ill upload pics later.
