Duke today it was nice

Cassie on the india sounding horse, Anja  with Midnight Colleen on Andy and Duke with me. we had lots of trots and we went around the laks so nice that we ended up where we began and skipped the huge hill up to the barn at the end.  Also the trots were good and long. We even trotted at the fork on the right where the walk ride usually goes.
As we walked back from the horses in the barn, Bobby posed cause he knew we were taking pictures.  hes so funny.
Bobby posing after helping a family get saddled up for their first ride.  He's got a special look as a farmer in Massachusetts.
Two New horses in the ring last week.  One is named Stetson and the other was a little skiddish and didnt have a name yet.  The red/brownish one was more friendly to Colleen and I but the spotty one was looking at us and I think we'll get to know him more. Stetson's hoffa were split to the quick.  I hope they can heal. The picture above hou can see the horses are eating out of the center of the bales of hay.  Its pretty interesting looking.  Honey the new mini horse like to eat from the bales too.
Jewel is snacking with a horse I dont recongnize that is light colored.

Duke is getting ready for his next ride. I hope the bugs werent too much for him and the other horses for the 10am ride.

Saturday just Blue and me, its good

Got to ride today 9am.  It was pretty cool there were only 2 other people and I wa sable to get Blue.  I have been wanting to ride Blue for a couple of weeks. I think his personality will make him a good horse for me.  Hes known as being lazy but I want to learn how to get him going.  At one point when he was way behind he caught up by almost scaring me with his fast pick up.  I also like him because he doesnt go with a kick but a sweet kiss sound and pressure to his body by my legs just like a pro horse.  Hes a nice guy too.

Blue my horse buddy today had so many flies on his ears.  I spent all my time making sure that he was free from horse flies biting him.  I totally think he appreciates it.

King was being loades ubri rgw r

Peso is another of Blues children. She was getting saddled. The girl said Peso was a guide's horse.  Sheila said she trained her last year.  I think we will see more of her on the trails this summer.

Blue's son Rizzo is so pretty. His eyes are beautiful just like Blues beautiful face.

Tiania whinied so load while King was being loaded on the trailer.  They all watched as he pulled away in the trailer.  It was so cute.

Sunday ride, 3pm Tulsa, Tobey Colleen and me

We got there at 3:00 jumped out and ran to Bobby in the office to pay.  It was a large ride. I thought Id be on Blue but when we pulled up he was having someone else get on him.  I want to spend more time on him so I can learn about him.  He really appreciated me keeping bugs off of his face and ears.  Well Anja said when I walked up that they had Tulsa for me.  It was perfect.  She is a great horse.  Duke was in front of me and Colleen behind me on Tobey. The ride had quite a few riders for the trot. An older couple in front of me.  I do get impatient with larger rides and the riders.  I love the 9ams and 10ams with the more advance and or the riders that are serious about riding.

We trotted a few places, went around the Lake, had the continues trot past the large lake opening where people are close to the edge swimming. I find it very exciting when we ride up the hill around the corner and down a few openings in the lake's tree lined edges.  Its so cool when lines of horses trot by on the trail. Tulsa was amazing.  Duke was beautiful and the lady with Boger was kinda lame about trotting.

Tulsa and I behind a man that kicks Duke when he has to pee.  If Duke listened.  He would have experienced SPEED.
Colleen and Cathy had a strange  thing happen.  First thing is we separated from the walk ride way earlier than usual.  Just as we entered the woods from the farm.  Our trot ride went left and the walk ride went right and rode against the rock wall on the back of the farm. Amanda took the walkers, Sheila took the first group of trotters and Anja and Cathy took our trotting group.

When the trot ride got to the little desert area Colleen asked if Cathy could fix her stirrups, they seems at the wrong length.  Well when Cathy got off Foxie she walked over to the back of Tobey and Tobey was taken back by it and kicked at Foxie.  Well Cathy got the kick and Colleen didnt know exactly what happened.  Cathy shared what happened but we are sure if she was ok or bruised in the hand from the kick.

I was also worried because Taboo Cathy's horse wasnt feeling good Sunday.  He looked worried.  Colleen and I petted him and saw that he was feeling worried.  I hope hes better now.

I cant wait to ride on Saturday again.
View from the trail back into the ranch.  all the horses here with minis enjoying long grass.

Tobey with his bug protector on.  The trail was loaded with flies.

IN THE BARN after our ride

Datania and Rizzo.  Datania is so sweet. I hadnt met her very closely before.  It was nice.

Cash with a new red blanket before his lesson.
Sheila on Cash in the ring. He's learning to listen to her.  He did great.

Cash, hot after his ring lesson & trailriding.  Hes a sweetie, very friendly to  Colleen and I at the corral area.

Still need to ride - Blue Cassie Foxie

Felt so tired on Saturday, this week was too much for me.  Still needed to ride. I took the truck, it makes me feel amazing. When I got to the farm it was just me there.  I walked all the way around the corral to see who is out and saddled.  Tulsa, Hershey, Pumpkin, Domino, Cedric, Pixie, Duke and Blue all ready to go. Sheila smiled and asked me who I wanted to ride today.  I thought about it.  Tulsa?  She is so sweet.  No I asked her who needed to get out today the others need a break.  I felt like saying, "Come on Duke"  but I like riding all the horses.  When I paid with Sheila she said there was no change yet. I had 8 ones.  She said close enough.  she gave me the 20 bill back.  Looks like I was lucky today. Cassie rode Foxie she was very happy to get out that morning.  The ride was like  a lesson.
Blue, beautiful, his face is kind and gentle.  Sweet Horsey Mumps has a cute pink nose too, one of the best horses ever.
Cassie told me stories about Blue.  Blue was so cool today. Because he wanted to keep the zillions of horse type flies off his head when it came time to trot he was racing up behind Foxie to keep his head free of the bugs.  He trotted amazing. I told Cassie I wanted to learn to ride better and Blue was a great teacher on my form.  We went around the lake and trotted a few times.  I really enjoyed Cassie.  She is Bobby's grand daughter and its pretty cool to think that she is carrying on the traditions.
It was very hot for 9am.  I love the feeling of riding early and being alone in the trails.  I told stories to Cassie about Colorado's fires and how I went riding out the at the stables in the Springs.  She said she has never ridden anyplace but there.  I thought that was pretty cool.  Blue was great he listened pretty good and he kept up great. Cassie said that he ride close to the rear of Foxie to keep the bugs off his face. They had an nice thing going. He watched her back and she kept his face clearer.  I spent tons of time keeping Blues head and ears free of bugs.
When the ride was over, I got to the corral, I got off and when I went to say thanks to him, Blue turned to Me and and looked at me for a quick moment.  I feel he thanked me for keeping his ears clear of bugs. I dont think any horse has done that to me. Maybe I should ride him all the time.  I said to Cassie "I think I just had a moment with Blue" she said, You did!!  It was a great ride. I took some pictures on the tail and around the farm but not too many.
My new boy could be "Blue".  Also my favorite color and the horse with the prettiest and sweetest face.
