Saturday afternoon 345 about 45 degrees

Got to the barn at 345, horses are in already. Im not too sure about why, seems like I would have liked ot see them our just a bit longer out in the beautiful sun. But hes in his stall. So I grab my stuff this time I have my camera so that makes me so happy. The Perry famlily was hanging around talking to Scott as he was tacking up Gailen. Scott had his son, he looks like about 8 years old. He was talking alot as they tacked up. They were going to have Scotts boy do some learning. The Mrs talked and talked with them. They were all about the virus and work and not working.  Just chatting.
I was happy to get Duke out, in the ailse and start keeping it.
Its like week 8 of brushing him out and Im past the worst of the shedding. His mud today was great.
We worked out of the stall, doing the usual, brushing his mane, all the way down, hair, treating and brushing his tail, conditioning hi hoofs, I had no treats today. I worked on his grooming and tack.
The farmhouse has a pop up camper with people outside being weird alot of the time. Today they were burning really badly. June came and commented on the horses being in so early. I thought so too.

Quick Visit to drop off Previcox, snacks, apple bites

Ran over to the barn, parked next to Duke's stall like I used to. I like that I could see Duke in the window. It was exciting to see his gray profile move around in excitement. I went into the office and brought in his Previcox in the bottle. The board said that they are getting their spring shots.  I turned the barn lights on when I got in the office. Theres a creepy feeling in the dark when you get into the office and the barn. The lights take a while to get the lighting on an the barn lit enough to not feel like its dark.
I had cut up 2 apples, container of treats and a ton of grapes.
Shared with everyone the treats. The apple pieces Muk, Doc and then Duke Sienne Townes Lily the girls and Galeon.
I went l in the stall and Duke had lots of mud on him all dried up. As I walked down the ailse he heard me and started that great horse talking that he does that I love so much.

Sunny, windy 40s Dukes out in the paddock

Deep water mud at the entrance of the of the paddock very deep in the mud up to the fur above Dukes hoofs. I was glad that I had the hoof protector. As I brushed out his hoof with the dry brush I could see his goofs new growth. I always worried that it may have problems, It looked really good though but did it grow really fast?  When I got there Duke was socializing with the little boy, Odin. I watched them sweetly they rubbled their noses.  Odin's paddock was filled with water on the edge pooled to the side.  Odin was standing in it, seemed he liked the edge or something. I saw that his paddock was in an incline. The water in the paddock was on the edge
Krystyn said that he was achey today on the turnout.
I worked when I got there, I did like 6 or 7 stalls. Dukes and Siennas on one side and then the other ones on the other side.
My back is kinda sore. When I arrived Krystyn and Bonnie Bonnie called me when the salads with chicken came in.  They love the pizza. She called me 2 times but I wanted to finishing clearning out the stalls and loading up the gator.  Job done. I felt really good when I went into the office.
I got a paper plate and loaded the lettuce leaves and a couple pieces of chicken. It was good.
Saturday I forgot my water, I wanted it. I did remember to cut up apples and bring peppermints and applesauce.
I finished up the piles but didnt put the remaining manure on the gator I could hear Bonnie and Krystyn piling it up.  Krystyn started the waters and sawdust.

Each Week
- Hoof conditioner
- Treating Hair root on the his tail
- conditioning his long tail with Conditioner
- Heavy brushing to remove the sheading
- small walking
-Now 14 March, field grazing is ok

Krystyn said that  this week, Kerrie would be at the barn for a check and they would fold in a few quesitons about Dukes next steo for him to recover or gain strength.

Im looking to find a Previcox selling thats even better value from Heartland.

Missing all of the times we trail rode

My Duke is still a good boy, hes struggling to gain his strenght back after a paddock injury. He'll come back I hope he'll feel less stiff and be able to have less pain.

Out in the paddocks - light duty

Needed to meet raychel for a pep talk at Elizabeth Grady shop today and planning to go to the barn at around 1or 130 to see how Duke is doing and if they need it do a couple of stalls. I text Bonnie and let her know. When I drove on the Greenwood Road I felt so good. I had my fingers crossed that I saw that big gray perch standing in the sun. Sure enough I could see Bonnies car and then I saw a large gray mass in the paddock area. No one but that guy.
Krystyn was working with a piece of pizza in her hand while she was in the paddock. they must have just finished up lunch.
I had 2 stalls to do, Duke and Sienna left to do.
I was telling Krystyn that I was so happy how we were working with Duke all winter and he was more fit than in previous years.  I was so happy to get doing the night lessons with her.  Hes been on stall rest since 3 Feb. Back on the paddock days on Wed and on that day Krystyn gave him the sedative so he would not get too crazy and hurt himself again.
So hes still not Sound she said today.
We will keep him on this track of being outside with friends and then.
