Shorter visit, time for blankets

Equine Affaire 2023, Valerie was great

 Great year with Valerie, hard to believe she is so young but strives to walk all the time.

Val walked 5.6 miles on Friday and 1.5 miles to the Dr Sueess museum on Saturday then slept the whole way home, plus had skating on Sat later in the day.

Visit sore front foot/crack'd too Sunday, 4 November

 I had a not as productive day when Patti was ill, she did not come into the barn and I had thought I would work with my horse successfully. 

Well it didnt really work, When I got him into the arena, he really seemed off, I had ended up stopping because I could tell he was just irrated, possibly in some sort of pain tellng me know by acting up.

I looked at his hoof, its cracked, I thought that his feet may be painful, its funny because I actually intend to ride many times when I go over but then I assess him, his attitudes, his interactions, time left of day, weather (if its changed or became colder etc) they act up, then there is this thing, they act out.

Well looking at this foot, I saw that his hoof was cracked, the previous owner said, "His feet have always been a problem". Well I called Dave well I texted him and he came over last week, trimmed and found that he had a rock in his foot, I am disappointed that I cant get him to feel like working out with me, except in our ground work.

Ill keep doing that and who knows we can get there together. <3

Took Sienna in too

POURING RAIN, and they had the huge caterpiller banging out the back of barn

 Great day, Saturday, pouring rain but Beau did it all so nicely round pen, stretched, rolled and then tacked up and even his bit in for about 40 minutes. He went over to the stairs and we almost did the quick ride.  But, I was thinking taht the environment was just to tricky, Pattyu was home and I was along all afternoon. Just Beau and Me it was really great. We tried a new way of working out.

I sent up the pole circle the same as he worked out with Joe his old owner. Its so exciting.

We walked around together and he was very good at it. I can imagine that we will be able to work out iwth it.

I even worked out with Sienna but she didnt want to go out of her stall at first, then I put her in the arena shse sort of just tried to flirt with Cisico. She sort of just stood there, in the arena. Then I got her, in the arena she did nothing then, I brought her gently to the aisle and walked toward her stall stepped near it, I

Great work out day tacked and everything but no ride

 Tucker left the barn today to his new home, a small farm with a little girl Krystyn said. I guess it will be good. I am hoping that its a goo decision for him.
Beau was his best self, he was waiting patiently and was so happy to see that it was me coming up th ehill to get him and only him.

He was ready to come play with me. I opened his gate and he took a few bites everying time we took a few steps. It was cute. No one in the barn but there were several cars. I thought I was going to be with a bunch of others. Kayla was at the 4H show I wanted to go see her but I had better time spent with Beau.

Brought him into the arena, he was happy to go in, I can close the door while he waits patiently, I liek it. Hes a super good boy. 

I open lunged him as Lynn's father watched it was pretty cool, he liked it alot plus Beau was very good for the workout. He listened so well and went both directions.

Note: ignore Kristie alot more, pretend she is not even there but talk to her horse, Jax.

As I was putting my supplement packets for Beau into a new location, one of the drawers, I saw it was prevous owners name was Morgan O'Sullivan then she married to change it to Morgan LaRosa.

so I sent her a text, and then I recived this pictures, stories texts, She thinks about him everyday

I’m sad to hear Beau was sold again (especially because I was contracted to get first right of sale) but looking at your profile I see that he is in loving hands which is so comforting. I have been trying to find out how he’s doing since I sold him without success, so it makes me so deeply happy to see that he is still making others happy and living a great life!! My husband bought Beau in 2011 and taught him how to ride western after he tried his hand at jumpers but didn’t really like that world. He did absolutely everything with him from lots of ground work to learning how to jog and lope quietly and took him out on tons of trails with and without other horses. We had him 9 wonderful years but realized as we were graduating college that we didn’t have the funds or time to give him the care and attention that he deserved. We knew he had many more years of life ahead of him and wanted him to be somewhere where he had a job and could be loved by many. How did you and Beau meet if you don’t mind me asking? How is he doing? We miss him every day and would love to see any photos you’re willing to share. Let me know what else I can share about him!!!

Joe bought him locally from a girl that was selling him since he wouldn’t jump. He unfortunately doesn’t remember her name now and never had an official bill of sale or anything

He was great on trail rides and fine with other female horses for turnout and riding, usually good with other geldings for riding but didn’t love turnout with other geldings. He was good trailering for us when we needed to move him from time to time, just tended to throw his head up getting off the trailer if he felt rushed.

Yes he’s always been a bit sensitive to the flies! I always said he’s a quarter horse with the thoroughbred skin and hooves

Started the new hoof/skin/hair treatment suppliment last week

 so busy on Saturday when to the Fire dept open house with Raychel, Joe, Bob Wes and chase it was so fun.  By the time I got to the barn it was 3pm, and Patti was getting ready to leave and everyone else wasnt there. Th elittle daschund dog was looking lost as he wandered to my truck as I pulled in, so cute but then I called Bonnie to let her know, she said hed be ok because they werer moving or something about going to "thoe hoseu". I let her know that  she was with me.

Patti was wearing my hat, she siled as I walked up, it was beautful fall day, the leaves havent gone very far still plenty of green and spots of yellow. Nex week will be stunning.

I grabbed Beau from the paddock, he did that low man voice he has to say, hello or hurry up or glad you are here. he only says it once then he waits for me to get hm.

We went into the arena to work our or walk right away.

Beau really loves his hay

 On Saturday I was with Val, as we walked in I could see Patti walking around the arena, she looked like she was just looking for a little bird or something. Sienna was safe on the cross ties getting a message o the message pad.

She told me little later, she took a fall of Sienna, Sieann buck a few times and she didnt use the saddle but the saddle pad that has no stirrups or no real way to be able to hold on.

She went to Lahey latger in teh day, they took xrays ans said she had a chest. concussion, really painful but they also found a growth on her pancreas. Friday wen tfor an MRI. 
Hopellully its nothing

I did Beau pills on Sunday, going to add some hoof, skin hair supplement and see if his hoofs feel better.
