Short visit before meeting up with Val, Raychel, Joe, Wes Chase

Pretty solid visit, Bonnie and Krystyn were doing the stalls with a lawn mower because the gator is broken at the shop. Bonnie was really bummed. The lawnmoser had a small cart of the back and Bonnie had to empty it be shoveling. I think it would be more effective with the wheel barrel. They were filling up the cart and having the lawnmower in the ailse. It was loud and doing back firing.
I waited to use the in door because Bonnie said that they were driving out the back and she thought that Beau might go crazy. I didnt really thik so. So it took forever to finish the stalls and get them dumped. It made it so that even Kristi was there and I was still waitin got go oint the indoor, and I was there early but wasted time waiting because they were still doing the stalls. Anyway I made a plan, take him in and then just do his bit. I think he may be easier than Duke. After getting him into the stall, waiting forever, I brushed him out in the stall, he picked up 2 of his feet and one of them I was even able to get cleaned out with the pick.  I put in his bit, I did it with a snack Hes ok with it completely.
  • Used the pad today at the risk of not having enough stability. I planned to just sit on him and see if he would just stand still with me.  He did, just stood at the mounting block.  Im so proud.
  • Round penned him first, hes really such a good boy, I love how he runs. He went both ways today, it was very nice. '
  • For the first time ever, he did.a wild back rodeo kick uip in the high air and the one more, then went running aound agian to the lieft. No pooping in the corner. He watches me but we are not relly good with "click for trot" or "kiss for canter".
  • Went out to Beau's paddock. thank god its drained of all the terrible green bacteria water. It was turning a strange green and I was afraid that he might get an infection. But hes super smart and doesnt go into it because I think it doesnt feel comfortable., but the soil supports tiny grass so he gets to nibble tiny grass.
  • Also in Beau's paddock had the most beautiful butterfly that was flutterying around and sitting , yellowtail swallow tail.
  • After I taking Beau through the paddock, Kristie was mounting and she fell of the block. I turned because I heard the noise of the block falling over over and her on the ground. She said that Jax had stepped away as she was getting on. I felt bad that she fell but she was ok, she said her horse did not run or panick. Thats good.
  • If I could have I would have followed out Patti, instead kristie was folowing her. he was annoyed, at the barn she talks aobut how to kill pigeons. Its kinda sickning.  Anyway, she feel off the mounrting block, she said it was her horses fault for walking away I think that there needs to be some work there. Then whil eI was getting a ton more snacks from the car, she was walking loudly around the corner and her horse just spazzed out. She seemed to recover him.
  • I made up some packages for Beau in the baggie, its alot better to do.
  • On Saturday Beau was dewormed with the Quest Duramectin one.

Great weather 70s sunny finally

Saturday and Sunday finally able to visit both days.

My boy was good, Saturday, I tacked him up I was at the barn for a while, talked with Bonnie both days. On Friday I had dropped off a check and the cosaquin for  him too.

Worked him in the arena, grabbed him from his paddock and then brought him into the arena. Its so fun, we do the round penning, rolling then bring him into to be tacked up both days but I skipped the tack on Sunday. He had some bad stomache thing, his poop was really runny. Could be all the grass he stole on the walk out to the first speed bump. I turned around and l gave him snacks the whole way. I think that the magnesium may help me wiht him. Hes not perfect but hes going to be perfect for me. On saturday I had gotten into the arena first for the warm up. When Patti got in she tacked Sienna while I was running Beau. I can see he may not take off on me, hes achey, hes not that young and he doesnt feel like running really. This could be our thing. Any way we walked around the arena with Sienna and Patti. He was happy to be with her I think and Patti was smiling.

On Sunday Patti tacked up Sienna for a walk down the road and around the property, I followed them with Beau, he paid attention to her where she was etc. It was nice, I think he wanted to follow her. This is a goo d thing. we got back to the barn and went behnd the hay barn, I am going to keep switching it up so he sees more areas around the farm. I brought him up the hill and we grazed.

Well we did a ton of things including going out to the paddock for a while on Sunday

Really crappy day, again but last week on 23 April it was way worse out just pouring rain and Val and I snuck and got some hay with Patti for the horses. It was pretty fun. Cold out, and no Hay at all again.

Well Beau was so depressed when I opened his door of his stall he put his head down and nibbled some dirty hay. Wow hes sad I thought. He was happy to see me just that he was totally mopey. There was another ladyin the other ailse with her horse lengend, he's.a nice boy but they were soaking his foot, abcess. She was happy she had her husband son and a friend that she said was a vet. I was not feeling like she was a vet. The woman, I forgot her name, was saying that she had gotten a hit in the face actually she pointed to her nose. she said that he kicked her.

I felt bad, Patti had said that. she may have picked up his hoof or tried and it was painful.

I told her the story of how Dr Katz says that before picking up there feet or doing any work its good to take them into the arena or just walking a bit iwth them to warm them up.

Anyway I went into the arena with Beau and found him to be very attentive but just not wanted to run, he ran a little bit on one side then he didnt feel much like doing anything. We walked around alot. t was fun but I was concerned that he was too hungry. I had a ton of snacks so I keep loading him up with carrots, cookies and an occasional.

funny story, Today Beau was slow to come with me, I used a gentle pressure on his halter, like one finger, he responds and it makes me happy.

Anyway, so I take down the plank for us to go into the arena, I put him in and then close the plank, I had forgotten my little crop. I runed around to get it and came back to the arean turned my head to look left and then look right. He was gone. Where could he be, the last time saw him he was right there? I looked and the other plank was on the ground. I ran over and the other people did not see him and No Beau in that ailse.

I walked down calmly because I was a little embarrased, I lost my horse.

Beau had waltzed right into Legend's stall, that was loaded with hay. It was strange no one else had any. Anyway I laughed at him, and was glad no saw what had happened and saw he was stealing hay.

I grabbed him and was laughing.

We went back, he pooped in a new spot, center arena but against the back wall. So funny.

Anyway, it was funny,

Patti put Seinna in the arena and then we got the wheel barrel and grabbed 2 trips worth of hay. Patti likes hte greener stuff she thinks so of it is just stall or even moldry.

Saturday Birthday so Sunday is me Beau's day plus Val too

Sunday, got to the barn, looked like the gator was broken, I thought it would be only me, but there will still doing the stalls, seemed kinda late so I knew the gator was out. I stepped in and asked how could I help.
Then I brought out 3 barrels of horse poop and goat stuff. I knew I had to get finished with helping them get the chores done quick so I can start with Beau.

I wanted to be wtih him, let him roll, run around in the arena canter, trot walk. Do the poles again, I like running with him. Then at 1pm or so I will call Joey to have him drop off Valerie for a visit with the barn, and maybe even get to have her sit on him.

Well I was able to tack him up, after the brush out, foot check and pad saddle and bit.
The part of the bit makes me think its uncomfortable.

I stepped onto the mount ping block and he came right over so I could get on.
I stepped up, put my foot into the stirrup leg over and sat comfortable. for some reason he wants to walk right away.

He doesnt want to stop alot. He needs to be steered for by the one each rein. strange because I am use dto using reining.

I use my foot too. I bump on the left when reigning to the right.
To emergency stop him the advice is, pull one reign out to the side hard.

When we walk in the arena, hes just not as smooth as I expect, hes not as good navigating and he doesnt stop well at all. I know we are getting to know each other but I was hoping for a bit more of a connection riding.
I rode him for approx 5 min, around the arena a few times.
Getting off is interesting, I know that the more that I spend riding and getting ready to ride, its a good physical challenge, even lifting the hay is good stuff.

Joe came by with Val it was really pouring out I got so soaked. Beau was in the arena, exercised, tacked waiting I had already ridden him.

Val had such an excitied look on her face. She came out on the arena, I told her we were going to round pen him together. We took the dressage whip and or my extension crop with hay bail, I told her to point where you want him to run, look at the area and whip from behind to get the horse to go.
she did pretty good. We walked around the arena. Played with the poles.

She walked up to the mounting block and just like he did with me, Beau came up to the block.
She smiled and laughed, he wants her to ride him.
Its so cute.
