15 June working with this guy

Last week Beau was so good I had so much confidance in him I was imagiing riding him, takcking him up.

This week I was a bit litgher on the results. Beau did not make it down the road very far but I was ready in the case he did. As soon as we started walking the road he got very jump, and snorty. Im not really sure why he does that but I wanted to go to the bump in the road well maybe next time. I think this day, when I got the Patti was riding. Sienna has been doing great. Some day we will go out in the arena with her.
Maybe I should be pushing him hanging with Sienna in the arena.

he was not looking

back after being sick

Was finally able to go over and see Beau after bering pretty sick for 2 weeks. Thank god, Krystyn gave Beau all the supplements. I remember vaguely the last time I was at the barn. I know I had some pics and played with the cats. I think I was all gung hoe to work with Beau and he was not really onboard for listening, I think I went to take him for a walk down the road and he was not as controlled as I would have wanted.

but today was great, he was already in because Krystyn was taking it easy brining the horses in. I had some watermelon and Joliet just loved it along with Spicey. Also Kinsey.
Beau would not touch it. I had lotso f snacks for Muke.

I got the supplements together and startd to make them up. After I did most of them, I brought Beau out to the arena and we walked a bit I asked him to do some round penning but he was not very active. I started asking him to touch me and follow the directions of back stepping turning and stopping. He did great.

So proud of my guy, picking up his feet, doing good in the arena with his exercises. I will continue to talk more about his disipline and having his tack on when working out.

It became very noisy when Kristy arrived and the new people with their horse. Although she left before me, she did not really work very much with him.

Beau was in already so he has already had his day. It ended up raining and I went home to rest. Really taking my time to feel stronger again.

Quick visit on Monday

Quick Visit 2 hours I guess is quick

Monday - Working on manners its going great

Working on cues and crossties behavior. Working on walking backwards while I am standing facing with him. THis is new and he gets it right away from last week. I know the more we do the better. We will work on walking the road. Heard that Jax might be being sold, its a little disappointing.

Kept Beau on Cross ties for about 30+ minutes, went well

Worked on picking up his feet, he acts a bit strange but tries to pick them up when asked. so thats all I can ask for each time we meet.

They were in today because there was a threat of rain

🌧️

We worked out in mates paddock. We walked around th front and Baer hay barn then went into mates paddock
Beau listened to everything I asked kept his distance did steps backwards

Another great day! Listens like a champ!

I know I dont have as much time but because Patti was going out with other ladies I was all Beau. He liked it. Kristin sent me a note about if I wanted Beau out in the paddock and I thought yeah!  Then she sent me a note back that Sienna was getting a message from Michelle, so Patti did not text me today. I was wondering why. When I got there BEau was in his stall and Michelle let me know how helpful he was by keeping Sienna company during her work. I said, no problem but I would have liked if Patti told me or even let me know yesterday. It was a little strange for Kristin too. All is well because Beau was so happy to see me.

I took him out for a big grass eatin, he loved it so much. and then he did his backwards stuff in the dirt, but hes super distracted with the mares around and all that grass.

I walked him to the end of the driveway and around the back then back into the arena after evenyone left.

He was just amazing the cavesson is so perfect we worked out and I know he would have done more. I wished that I had lunged him but we did some great work anyways. Hes a great listener.

Over at 2pm great backward steps

didnt get over until 2 o'clock today when I got there, June was riding her horse and Patti was in the arena for some reason.

The two horses were in. I think it's because and come in together if they can't be out, I didn't brush bowl. I just put his new filter on connected it and then headed into the arena. We walked a mile and he did a new thing where he stepped backwards and as I was stepping backwards too, so we walk forward and then I asked him to go backwards and I start to count and we're both facing forward and we did 10 steps backwards. We did about 120 steps such a good we went out on the grass after a pick up back from the grass, I put Bo in his stall and he was really happy very well-behaved very proud of him and then I played with the cats and they were so sweet. Grover is back.

He's the old one who doesn't look well doesn't look happy either but he loved the treats and then there's two gray ones one of them is over and the other bargray one here he also loves treats and his skinny black one that I love so much and he was in the office and to talk to Krystyn New came in and they're gonna bring their horse over but they're not ready. They haven't really bought yet but they do like horses and they seem very nice about the name immediately.

Weekend Saturday with Wes and Sunday Mother's Day

The cavesson has made a huge difference between, lunging beau in the big arena and lunging him with a small controlled lead line and hooked to the front of the cavesson halter.
I was concerned with his charging that I ran into over te winter and in March/April. I did not want to stop working with him because of the charging potential because sometimes it was not a problem.

THe cavesson has created a smarll part of our liberty workout into a  controlled part of our fun game, Go Whoah.

The treats are less than before but there is rewards. Him on a halter like this is a big win.

I found this dressage video on cavesson training and then a great one with a western style trainer. It was just what I wanted, no training with a bit, bridle. Purchase the cavesoon its worth every penny.

Went out with him on Sunday to walk around alter in the day and he did good but spooked at the end of the driveway. I need to get him out there. Do walks way more. Hes ready I think.
