Almost Holiday rode Duke and with Danny

It was nice to go to the Ranch today but I was in between weeks and didnt have much money.  I had some carrots and also got the cool shirts for the guides that do such good work for us all on the trails.
Bobby had me go out on the 1pm for a ride. I was so lucky.  I walked about hanging out sharing carrots and then the ride came back and I was able to go out with the ride. Sheila, Danny, Anja and Olivia were the guides today.

On the ride Danny took me and the other little girl that wanted to trot on a ride behind the other group so we could get a couple of trots in. The other group had Anja and Olivia.  It was nice ride. Sheila said that Duke was doing great on the trails walking right through the middle of the puddles.  He really did do a great job.  I love the ride and felt lucky to be out on the trails. For a day that was suppose to be raining and thunder it sure was a beautiful sunny 80+ degree day.  The trails were great and Danny was so sweet to the little girl who was in front of me and so happy to ride Freckles. Her friend was on Belle.  Its nice to feel so lucky to be out on the trails with nature.

Had to meet my friends for a 9am. Duke, Kanti, Apache, Sarah Belle, Barb and Foxie

I practically jumped out of bed today to make sure I could be at the 9am.  The carrots were i my car and I had my clothes all layed out. Raychel was in her room when I woke up. I checked to see if she was working. She said no I was out the door early.
I was about 10 min early and feelig good. No Kanti in sight. As I was signing in with Sheila the phone rang and it was Kanti.  She was going to be late.  Cathey was giving Tabu a rub down with Sandy and Barb was waiting patiently on a rock.  I went in and saw all the horses getting ready. There were alot of help today.  It was wicked hot. Today it would be in the 90s.
We waited.

This is my little lamb.  Hes mouth is so small I have to make sure his carrots are very small.  Hes the sweetest.  The mini horses are kinda of mean to the little donkeys and the nice lamb.
I was not sure who this was getting a drink. Cash it wasnt Smokey.  I need to identify this sweetie later.

Early Ride with Kanti, Barb and Sarah.  A newer trail down an old tyme Road. We moved quickly back to the Ranch.

Belle wasnt comfortable around this downed Tree.  Apache didnt have any probs with the tree.

Lush growth on the trails.
Beautiful Old Road with tons of delicious grass, Duke was tempted.

I think this is Lakota

Tango loving Tabu

She came about 10 min late and we jumped on the horses. I had Duke and he was in a great mood.  He rode so great today. He trotted like crazy. We could have cantered but we were not really ready. Sarah was the lead. I think that Kanti asks for her.  I love it.  She is a ton of fun and loves to ride the horses.  It was a small ride just like I like. Perfect 9am.  Bob was int eh office later I brought over the carrots.
More later.
We rode out in Duke's favorite green spot that we rode a few years ago. A road.  Sheila had taken me there for the first time with Duke last year and he was so fresh stealing grass. He was better today but still swiped bites.

Visiting the Castle Stables for my first ride up Ossipee Mountains

Great day for a ride at the Castle Stables. I was able to meet Zues and the whole Castle in the Clouds family.  I was able to ride Lily they said she was a rescue horse that the family took in because the owners were unable to care for her.  She was a nice horse but she didnt like any of the male horses. She didn't want to walk with them not even on the same side as they did. I liked her attitude. She was worried they were going to pull something crazy so she stayed way back behind them.  I didnt mind a bit. I may have even liked it.  Colleen was up on a sweet horse called Bumble Bee that seemed to be everyone's favorite.  He had a face like Hershey but he was more like Duke in his size slightly smaller.  my horse Lily was smaller and she seemed kinda of shy.  Id like to go back soon and bring carrots and hang out at the barn.  I think we may have been there for an hour plus and it seemed like only moments.
The trails we were on were impressive. I thought we would be more on mountainy trails  liked the cliffs, soft trails, bridges and the beautiful streams waterfalls and fields.  My horse loved when we came to an opening and she could look around. I liked how she paid attention to every single thing was going on.

State Police to patrol beaches and parks on horseback

I loved when the horseback Statey would walk thru Salisbury State Park and the beaches even at night.  I felt safer knowing they were with us at the State Park, not just a drive-by.  Great article, thanks Massachusetts State Police Horse Unit.

Only one hour this time with Duke, Sarah Barb & Kanti

I was so happy to be heading to the barn today. It didnt even seem early to get up and get out. I had been up for a few hours cause the cats are so crazy in the am.  I got dressed and kept my hair in the wedding style from Saturday at Melvin's and Karen's wedding.  The B's won game 2 in the Stanley Cup with the Black Hawks so the day was a good feeling day. I had a few beers last night and I was afraid it may make me tired this morning but I was fine.
The morning was cool but was getting warm quick. I had worn my sweatshirt but I could have just had a Tshirt.  When I called in the morning I was going to do a 2hour and then Kanti emailed that she had hurt her back and she needed to take it easy.  The one hour was perfect, Sandy and Cathy were going out on a 2 hour but my funds are short this week and Id like to get home because it was Father's Day. We were getting the pool ready and Bob wasn't feeling too good.
Anyway back to the Horses.

Kanti and Barb get along great they talk about thier Moms I think Barb is going through some tough times.  I seem to just be excited about being on the trails.  When I phoned Sheila asked who I wanted to ride,  mentioned Malaki when I got to the farm she said that Malaki needed shoes.  She gets so frustrated because there is so much work.
The ride was great. Duke was so sweet. He hated all the water on the trails but he loved the trots. I notice that he was actually not tailgating for once.  So funny.
Sarah was a brat on Foxie. She wants to see how fast she will go if she brought her out on the straightaway.  It was a fun ride. I thought the trails would be worse considering all of the flooding this week but it was just regular we could even trot around the lake.  Looks like the plants drank it up fast.
We were back from the ride.  Sandy and Kathy took off fast at the beginning of the ride so they could get out of sight of the horses we were with or ours would try and catch up if they see then in front of them.  Could be fun but we better let em go ahead of of site.
Wonderful morning and I got a cool ice coffee for everyone at the house.  It was a nice father's day coffee.  Bobby was a sweetie takin it easy in the office. He was happy about Father's Day. I gave him a little father's day kiss on the cheek. That guy is something else.
Oh yeah Smokey is back looking good but the people who had bought and returned him cut his feet too short like a fingernail down past the quick.  He has to recover, I hope it doesnt hurt.
